What Are You Reading ?
Herman Wouk - Don't Stop The Carnival - 1965

Very good author that gets over looked. Some nice light reading after that nasty Holocaust thing. Story of a successful New Yorker handles his mid-life crisis by buying a restaurant/bar on a Carribean island. He actually gets conned into it by some rich business man friend. Relocates with his wife, not knowing the first thing about island life or the owning of a business. All hell breaks loose in a comical way as the poor guy fights his way through the obstacles. This book was made into a stage production with the help of Jimmy Buffett who also wrote the music for it. Guess they became close friends after Jimmy read his book. Jimmy went on to write his own books including A Pirate Looks At Fifty which this book reminds me of.

One for the Bush haters. Lays out the financial and personal ties between the Bush's (both of them) and the royal family of Saudi Arabia. He does make a very good case. For what I'm not sure. Yes, things we do have consequences. That doesn't mean we meant for them to occur. I see Unger has some other books out there. All of them bashing conservatives. Unbiased of course.

Should have been called 'House of Bush, House of Sand' - far more appropriate.
'The purpose of life is a life of purpose' - Athena Orchard.

One of a series of 20 novels in the Master & Commander set. This is volume 10 and is the one they decided to make a film out of in 2003 that starred Russell Crowe as the main character. Never saw the film but I probably will now if it comes on the tube. All of the books are set at the turn of the 19th Century and evolve around the naval seafaring adventures of 2 main characters. Very well written as if you were actually in that time. Must have picked this up on the cheap after the movie came out. It has Russell Crowes mug on the front.

BTW, besides God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost of course, I would have to say my favorite in the Bible is Paul. I like his teachings!!
