Joe doing what he truly loves I think but it fails for me. He grew up listening to dads jazz records and maybe this was done for dad but it
wasn't joe's only dip into the genre. Tunes are all from the 1940's swing era and all performed at some time by Louis Jordan who Joe says was
his main inspiration and who I am not familiar with. I guess I loved Look Sharp too much to ever let this sink in. Probably woud have enjoyed it
more by artists from that period. Allmusic calls it one of Joe's best albums, so what the hell do I know?

thats a pretty low score, but not surprising IMO...

i have a best of set from Joe and dont like half of it, have two studio sets on vinyl...dont like them neither.

"real men" is the best thing he did IMO, love that and "is she really going out with him", the rest i can take or leave(well, actually leave!)
