Nothing ground breaking here, just some good pop/punk, with nothing I love and nothing I didn't like. Was probably worth following up on but I
never did. This is the Swedish bands third studio album and the best selling at this point. Most of those sales have come in the homeland which
made the album #1 there, but the UK did take it to #7, and #33 in the US. Four singles were released and Walk Idiot Walk did the best of those.
Dead Quote Olympics was the best for me. A relatively short album clocking in at just under 30 minutes, with 3 tracks under 2 minutes. The UK
version got 2 extra tracks leaving me cheated.

Real name Wesley Harding Stace so he actually only stole the John. Had no idea this guy had this many albums or was still active, with an album
released just this year under his real name. No major success, so kudos for hanging in there. Another one I should have followed up on, but with
that many albums it's too late now, other than a compilation. This is his second album and a very good one, just missing the love mark. Here's
who all I heard while listening. Graham Parker, Robyn Hitchcock, Nick Lowe, Billy Bragg, Elvis Costello. The Costello makes sense, as we have
Bruce and Pete Thomas of the Attractions on here. John is an English dude but moved to the US in the 90's, to the Philadelphia area. Released an
album with the Decemberists in 2011. Was the first opening act that Bruce Sprinsteen had used in 20 years on his 1995 tour. He has also written
a few novels in between his music career. This album did not chart here and there was a single of The Devil In Me which only showed up on the
Modern Rock chart. Was hoping to find more tracks on youtube but it was not to be.

So damn close to my love mark. One track that didn't make a like. But this score is on a first listen. This is from my purchase list from last
year. Gave it an online listen at some point based on it being a new release. Don't think it was on anyones best of the year list, but it made
mine. It's still as good now as it was then. We get rock, soul, horns, strings, all working well for me. English band formed in 2007 with their
third album. None have charted well here, with this one a weak #191 and not even charting in the homeland. Looks like they are making most of
their money from their music being played on a long list of tv shows, which is not translating to sales. Three singles were released from here,
with What Makes A Good Man the only one touching a chart. This is a rock band with a black vocalist. They don't come along that often. The guy
has some soul in him. Picturing him doing something with Britney from Alabama Shakes. That would be awesome. I'll go out on a limb and say the
critics and the fans missed out on this great album.

This is the only thing I have by these guys. Their second of four releases, with the last one being in 2012. A lot of 80's band influences come through here. Just think grunge hair metal. They have toured with both Motley Crue and Nickelback, and that seems a good cross section to me. Probably the Aerosmith power ballads come out the best, one of those is my only love track, and everything else is likable enough. The band is from Oklahoma, and was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall Of Fame after only 2 albums, must not take much, or they got connections. Came up through the bars/clubs of Oklahoma City. After 1 independent local release they were signed by the biggies, and the next release goes multi-platinum. That's a quick rise to the top. Easy come, easy go though, as this next album, even though it charted at #4, has only achieved gold status. A big drop from that debut. They've managed to hang on for 2 more albums but each has done worse in the sales department. Not without effort, as 5 singles were released from this, with only 2 of them hitting the chart. After the tour to support the bands last album in 2012, it was announced that lead vocalist Austin Winkler was no longer with the band. I guess the future of the band is still to be determined.
