I voted Master of Puppets as it was my introduction - first album of theirs I'd heard all the way through. Very important band who helped define a genre, thrash metal.

Metallica is not for everyone, but should it be?

My favorite genre is Rock 'n’ Roll but the bands I love span different ‘sub-genres’ within that category (stoner rock, blues rock etc). I don't have a favorite within the sub-genre so I’m just going to lump them all together.

I know I've probably already commented on this poll at some point in the past but you just can't doubt Metallica's influence upon other metal bands.

Even those who knock them in terms of their (90s) output have been found to later reveal 'Kill 'Em All' as one of their favourite albums!

I voted for Ride the Lightning as I think it is their smoothest album as far as the total listening experince. The one album I most listen to is Garage Inc. which is sort of their greatest hits.

Yep, went with Metallica - Metallica. Why? Best Hetfield vocals on that album.

I voted for Master of Puppets as it was the first Metallica album I heard way back in my impressionable mid-teens. It didn't take me long to discover Ride the Lightning which comes a close 2nd and I guess my 3rd favourite would have to be the Black album.

Ride the lightning definitely, it's pure genius, the lyrics, the instrumental, the atmosphere, and the build up is all amazing, each song can stand alone very well, and as an album the songs work incredible well together.
