The Good The Bad & The Queen - The Good The Bad & The Queen
An all-star cast gathered together by UK music's renaissance man, Damon Albarn.
This is a dark, London-centric album that has few obvious parallels. Does sound a little Radioheady at times.
Didn't make much of an impression first time round, but it's a grower...

Kristin Hersh - Murder, Misery & Then Goodnight
Recently discussed on here, an album of Appalachian folk songs from my fave Alternative girly.

Jah Wobble - Heaven & Earth
Another of Wobble's global dub excursions, with Asia providing most of the ports of call.

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
Some excellent reviews directed me toward this, and I know the band have been name-checked on here a number of times.
This album is a very difficult one to pigeon-hole, but it certainly has a Beach Boys vocal feel to it. At the same time, the music sounds nothing at all like the Beach Boys.
Genuinely 21st century sounds...
Feels is much better than Merriweather....

Savath Y Savalas - La Loba from La Llama [Stones Throw, 2009]
The new album from Guillermo Scott Herren (aka Prefuse 73). The digital version was released earlier this month. The physical release is not until May. I think I prefer this "Catalan acid-folk" to his work as Prefuse 73. Maybe I'm just getting old and prefer quiet music.
