Why Does Metal Appeal to Younger Peeps ?

The one album Jerome ---HEAVY HORSES borderlines on Hard Rock/Metal my friend !!!!! I cited the one album only(see my previous post carefully) to demonstrate what really is metal! It won a Grammy for best metal album in 1978/79 and the reason I know because it was a question for a million bucks on Who Wants to be a Millionaire...I think the contestant guessed wrong.

Yes that's it for sure MH ! I thought it was earlier ,,,so JT went hard with Crest of a Knave! other than that since I have been a JT listener since 1969...the band is obviously folk rock!!!...and a dam good one!!!!!I put them in my Top 10 bands list and Tiggi or Tony were surprised...not me ....never released a bad album IMHO including A Passion Play!!!! Their live albums Live - Bursting Out (1978) and Live at Montreaux 2003 are fabulous!

Honestly, it could be from the upbringing of parents listening to such music. Or, it could be from the realization that Metal is no more than freedom. And being a teenager, any act of "rebellion", is all about individuality. But at the same time, this is the 21st century dude. There are some teens who love the older stuff, and there are the teens who like the more modern metal. And to finish this thought, you can't forget about the one's who lived through some of the best times when Metal was at it peak. They may be old, but there's nothing I love more than seeing a 60 somethin' year old rockin' a Metallica shirt. Kudos from me, every. single. time. Compliments galore! And I'm sure that in their shoes, It's nice to see someone younger in this world of stuck up twats sharing a passion for such music. I know if it were me in their place, I'd smile, and say "Rock on!" \m/

Metal or Hard Rock or anything goes metal really has a big impact and appeal on younger age because of what I think it has a deeper history on each of the individual young age like history of it's living environment and an environment to its family background perhaps some of the family member like listening to metal music

It may be true that metal (again, what is "metal"?) is followed by teenagers. Metal producers decide on their target market and zero in on it, and this might entail only teenagers. I can't fancy an adult going crazy about Slipknot and dressing like that, or an adult passionate about the Brazilians Sepultura. Now, all this could end up in a supreme way, 'cos some of these kids study music professionally and end up at Berklee college of music, eventually creating wondrous things such as Dream Theater. Unfortunately, many others of these gullible kids grow mature and listen to Ricky Martin or whatever there's on the radio until they pass away, and their old metal memories now crack them up.

Imagine it Ivan !...I am an adult who likes all genres of all music for the most part...and that includes metal!

Screecho and clean metal have been around for at least 30 years! I am currently enthralled by the fabulous quality of prog rock metal these days...the bands play a little bit of every genre for the most part!
