Seconds Out is a superb live album as Jerome has said a few times! ...however I do prefer Gabriel and Genesis like Rusty!

To the new stack. Sure thought this would have come out higher. Love six of the eighteen
tracks, but the album just misses the love mark. Covers the period 1975-1995 and material from
8 studio albums plus a few I had not even heard before, as they were released for this album.
One of those marketing things they used to do to suck people into buying songs they already
have. This is Bruces first compilation. You would think there would have been one before 20+
years in the game. Nothing here from his first two albums, so they pick up with the album that
broke him big, Born To Run. Most represented is Born In The USA with four tracks. Not
surprising that this album topped the chart both here and in the UK. I dont care much for the
Greatest Hits title of this album. The inclusion of new tracks plus some of the others not
being hits, makes that title wrong. You never know if the artist is involved in making these
business decisions, so we can't blame Bruce for that. The fact that allmusic only gives an
artist of this stature 3 of 5 stars for a compilation, says a lot about this album.

surprised "the river" only gets "**" from you...that would no doubt be my favourite track on this one...

i think 2.3 is a valid score for this one...much prefer his studio albums to a 'best of' set.

Did her first two albums, missing her third, and this is her fourth. Not sure if I have any
more. We'll find out next week when I return to the old cd stack. Like the first two, this one
passes. One love track with Come To My Window and I like the rest of the album. That song plus
I'm The Only One and If I Wanted To were all hits here, and moved Melissa into the spotlight.
I'm The Only One was the highest charting of the three with a #8 showing and Window at #25.
Strange that Window was the track that won a grammy. The album peaked at #15 here and was a
moderate hit in the lands that matter, and it looks like it is her best selling album. As to
the title of the album, it is said to refer to her coming out. I find it necessary at this time
in my life to announce that I am straight.

Agee with your best track...one of my favourite KISS tracks ever

Fifth studio album and the follow up to the surprisingly successful Destroyer, my favorite Kiss
album. They included another ballad on this one, patented after the beautiful Beth from that
previous album, we have the beautiful Hard Luck Woman. Both songs are my favorites. One harder
love track for me from this one is Ladies Room. Too bad there are two do not like tracks to go
with the two love, making this just an ok album. While listening to Hard Luck Woman, I kept
thinkin' Rod Stewart. The while doing this review, I read where Paul Stanley wrote this and
wanted it to be sung by Rod Stewart. That's just freaky. Anyway Peter Criss ended up singing it
after Gene Simmons insistence. Now I wanna know what Ace thought. The song didn't match the
success of Beth, but got the boys another top 20 hit. Calling Dr. Love was another hit, taking
this album to #11 on the US chart.

QUEEN "the works" cd,1984

synth laden rock on this one....just listen to the abysmal single "radio ga ga" and you'll get a feel for the album overall IMO...
and on that song, shows just how bad Queen got with the chorus "all we hear is radio ga ga,radio goo goo, radio ga ga"...Christ, i could have written that trash!
nothing on here that could stand up with their classic songs of the 1970s/early 1980s, except for "i want to beak free"(love the tongue in cheek video for it though!)
i guess "hammer to fall" and "man on the prowl" could have been close to great Queen tracks, and there is the good ballad "is this the world we created", but for the rest, i can take or leave them, but then again, i never thought these guys made consistantly good albums, except "the game" from 1979/80 which i love.
love the live clips below...Freddie sure is a fine showman on the stage, aint nobody can strut it like he does...the consumate showman IMO!

I can't even remember if I have this album.
Hard to think a Queen album would score that low for me.
If I have it, it will turn up someday.
as to the single, you're right, that chorus is pretty stupid
and it's hard to get past them
however, I do like the verse lyrics
I guess I relate to them
here they are minus the chorus

I'd sit alone and watch your light
My only friend through teenage nights
And everything I had to know
I heard it on my radio
Radio.

You gave them all those old time stars
Through wars of worlds - invaded by Mars
You made 'em laugh - you made 'em cry
You made us feel like we could fly.

So don't become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just don't know or just don't care
And just complain when you're not there
You had your time, you had the power
You've yet to have your finest hour
Radio.

We watch the shows - we watch the stars
On videos for hours and hours
We hardly need to use our ears
How music changes through the years.

Let's hope you never leave old friend
Like all good things on you we depend
So stick around cos we might miss you
When we grow tired of all this visual
You had your time, you had the power
You've yet to have your finest hour
Radio - Radio.

I do agree they are good lyrics but i just cannot get past that chorus or or the synths on it

The link i put up was pretty good for it though...."***" for the live performance
