Strictly elevator music. I don't hate this stuff but it would never be my choice for something
to listen to either. Choice doesn't matter in my selection process. Looks like some budget
release I have here. Nothing about the album out there and no liner notes. Only one track with
any type of vocal, Till. Canadian Percy Faith died way back in 1976. He was fairly popular in
the 50's before that Elvis guy came along and ruined everything. Percy had transformed the big
band sound into the lush strings sound, only to meet up with the screaming guitar sound.
Actually Percy's biggest hit came near the end of his run, with Theme From A Summer Place which
hit #1 in 1960. Never equaled that but he had a few other top tens. None of them on this album
though. This is a clunker.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Speak Low

Best Track - Till

Suitably impressed does not even come close. I was blown away. Superb talent. Thx for the heads up. Passed this onto many friends around the world. Have not had a bad reaction yet. Everyone likes this girl. Now if she would only answer my marriage proposal mails......

Just listening to top 200 'Rock Songs' on tv. Plenty of good songs on there, but my two favourites would be
No. 53 Boston - More Than A Feeling
No. 52 Icehouse -Great Southern Land

Rusty, I am curious as to how Seasick Steve makes a one string guitar? What string does he use, etc...also Jack White made an interesting one string instrument (can we actually call it a guitar?...I don't know?) on the intro to the music doc It Might Get Louder...I'm interested in tampering with different sounds...lol
Mrrusty1 Wrote:seasick steve is absolutely brilliant . the can make an old piece of wood with one string and a humbucker pickup sound like led zeppelin . the bass player in my last blues band looked just like him lol

CHRIS ISAAK "the best of.." cd.

"easy listening" is where you put Chris is guess???
never been a big fan of him but saw him perform live some time ago and he was very very good...
so i thought i'd get a compilation of his songs...
always thought he had a Roy Orbison thing happening with his voice, you know, ablility to hit and maintain high notes and having a good solid range of octaves with his vocals, strange though, because the worst track here happens to be an Orbison cover(only the lonely)!?!?
sure i iether like or love most of the tracks here(5 loves and 9 likes), but the four bad ones let this album down a bit...he is pleasant enough to listen to but i wouldnt really say that i am a fan...by the way, Dani doesnt like Chris much at all...too laid back for her i guess, anyway, what do Pink Floyd fans know about real music anyway(come on Jerome, take the bait!)
i do like this album, but it doesnt get anywhere near the score that a best of set should get from an artist who has been around a fair while like Isaak's has...
