This is like, not old-school blues at all, but I have been kind of enjoying Last Train to Memphis by Johnny Rivers. He's definitely a cross-over artist. Best track "Down at the House of Blues."

I've been totally stuck on this song by Janiva Magness for a couple of weeks. It's "I Won't Cry" from her new album "Stronger For It."

Canadian orchestral bandleader, biggest in the 50's. Thought this would be mostly instrumental,
but only 3 of the 11 tracks are that. The vocal tracks are by a chorus, sort of like the Ray
Charles singers type of thing. Not even close to that good though. Elevator music of the
popular songs of the day. Only two songs I wasn't familiar with and one of those gets the best.
Six of the tracks get a passing grade, mainly because the songs are such classics, it's hard to
do a bad version. Original versions of most would get a love mark. This is not something I
would have purchased, so my guess is it was in my mothers collection.
