i have two Radiohead albums, probably only five tracks between both that i like, thats it...just couldnt get 'into them'

i ued to own OK Computer also...i tried for years to like it but i just didnt 'get it'...its the only cd i have ever given away,simply hate it...but hey, different strokes for different folks i guess

DAN SULTAN "get out while you can" cd,2009.

difficult to know where to put Dan....he's a bit country, a bit folky, a bit rock and roll and rockabilly all rolled into one, so i played safe and lodged him in "alternative"
this is Dan's second album(i do not have his debut), this was recommended to me by another traddie on site a couple of years ago, i checked him out on youtube and bought this album...the album starts off with his more quieter/softer/country-esque type material but by track eight he hits his straps and generates some 1950s style r+r...
lots of good tunes on here, some took me a while to appreciate but it was well worth it in the long run...a great young writer/performer who doesnt appear to revell in the limelight or the trappings of commercialism in the music industry....full cudos to you Dan, you have a long career ahead of you....shame my favourite track is linked on youtube

ALEXANDER ERBERT "alexander" cd,2011.

one of the last 'promo copy' cds i got off Corey before he was told 'they are promo's for the shop, you cannot give them away to customers!' by the music reps...assholes!
dont know what all the fuss is about as ive tried syncing a few of those promo's to put on my ipod and they are copy controlled so it cannot be done..which means no one can ever burn them to replicate them!!!!
anyway, ive been on wikki and allmusic and cannot find a single thing out about Alex...another enigma i presume?!?
the album is sort of folky in a way yet musically it is generally uptempo and enjoyable yet simplistic at the same time...
lots of catchy poppy/folky tunes here though, even managing to sound like Bob Dylan on a couple of tracks, "bad bad love" and "old friend" being the main two..also, "in the twilight" has a distinct Paul Simon feel to it...
all up, not a bad album, just wishing i could have found out a bit about the artist whilst doing this, and hoping youtube has a link or two available???

ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ATTRACTIONS "imperial bedroom" cd,1982.

somewhere around album number eight or nine for 'the other' elvis....
following hot on the tails of his country album 'almost blue' is a solid return to his rock/new wave roots...
sure, there a several bluesy type jazzy ones and a psuedo-country track here, but it is a return to his original sound...
songs of love lost, unrequited love,domestic abuse are abound here(seems to be recurring themes over his career), this album was the first Costello album not to contain a UK top 40 hit, but the album still made it into the UK top10.
the great thing about elvis(like Dylan) is that even when a track sucks his lyrics still stand up well,often enough for him to get a pass mark from me.
even though the score is quite good here, it is still an average Costello album which shows the strength of this guy when he is totally 'on song'...
love The Man,the Music...everything about him!
