I love Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it till my fingers bled
Was the summer of '69

Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit, Jody got married
Shoulda known, we'd never get far

Oh when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I'd always want to be there
Those were the best days of my life

Didn't you already say this somewhere?

LIMP BIZKIT "chocolate starfish & the hotdog flavoured water" cd,2000.

their third album, and the first i heard thanks to my eldest son, who back in 2000 advised me i should listen to this, Linkin Park's debut and Eminem's "marshall mathers lp"...which i did and i love all three of them!
these guys are so immature with their lyrics yet it works for me on that level...
profanities abound here, making Eminem sound like a kindegarten kid!...especially on "hot dog" which contains the "F" word on at least 55 occasions, but it works in a humourous way IMO.
first half of the album is what they call rap-metal, the second more laidback...obviously though, i prefer the heavy Bizkit or is that a chocolate bizkit?!?
got another of their albums, the one with the Who cover "behind blue eyes" on it(thats the only half decent track on that one)...gave up on them after that, but they left me with a classic album, this one.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

worst track: rollin'(urban assault vehicle)
best track: hot dog

DEEP PURPLE "30:very best of" cd,1998.

pretty sure i only got this compilation for Smoke On The Water originally so it must have been in a discount bin somewhere or on special...
not a fan of DP so i either love or dislike their tracks generally.
one of the "big 3" UK heavy/hard rock artists from the early 1970s...the others being Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath..not keen on them either but Zep has grown on me over thelast year or so.
best track for me here would have to be their ballad "when a blind man cries"...absolute classic IMO

MASTODON - Crack The Skye (2009)

As some of you know I seem to have an appreciation of all music if it appeals to me! Having said that I have been on a quirky metal kick of late. This album by the popular accessable Mastodon from Atlanta is straight ahead hard rock metal. The songs are catchy and the musicianship is brilliant. A friend of mine saw them live and they don't disappoint! Very good uptrempo music to listen to on headphones out on a walk!
