Great albums, but I think my favorite is Rory Gallagher's "Irish Tour '74." That's just a ridiculous album. Not sure if it was ever released as an album (I don't think it was) but Gary Moore in Stockholm in 1987 is fantastic too. As is Tesla's Five Man Acoustical Jam and Phil Och's "Gunfight at Carnegie Hall" (Though, that last one is mainly due to the humor of the whole thing.).

Steppenwolf Live is a fantastic live album and all of the songs on this album are really great versions.

Saw them here ,Steppenwolf, in 1969 live and yes fabulous show ...now I'm dating myself ...lol

Respect man I was only about 6 in 1969 but seeing Steppenwolf live at that time must have been awesome ,I just love Jon Kay.

Another great live album is carlos Santana and Buddy Miles live ..recorded in1971..loads of great Santana tracks ..

One of the greatest live albums I have ever heard ! The sound is top notch and there is great crowd participation !!!!...can't wait for their new album this year

Now you are going to find this strange SteveO, considering the fact that I am a PF addict. I love their live shows (visually) but on CD it just does not come across. Don't know why. Maybe it's too manufactured!! Now your mention of DB's 'Stage' - that works! On so many levels. You really get the sense that you are 'there' - especially on headphones. The same is true of George Harrison's ' Bangladesh' and Neil Diamond's 'Hot August Night'. Not to mention 'Paris' - awesome!
