totally agree with your assessment of it MH...heard this one once when i was younger from my mums collection and never ever want to hear it again...
hate it when these guys think they can do soundtracks....Diamond's 'livingstone seagull' was another that springs straight to mind!!!

Funny how things go - bought the movie a week ago. If you like that movie try 'Kundun'. Worth the effort. And money.

SteveO Wrote:Isn't Sakamoto incredible ! One of my favorites is A Day in New York , bossa nova/jazz album , he plays piano in a quintet !...he is so versatile, somewhat of a musical genius I'd say !
Virtually impossible to listen to all of his albums...I think he has over 80 at last count ! Esteemed MD member Jerome recommended him to me...MD is a great place for recommendations ! The members at MD are very knowledgeable !
His work with David Sylvian is pretty good too!

[h=2]Bryan Adams - Summer Of 69[/h]
I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it till my fingers bled
Was the summer of '69
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit, Jody got married
Shoulda known, we'd never get far
Oh when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I'd always want to be there
Those were the best days of my life

I just watched "Koyaanisqatsi"; man, if being pure visual splendor wasn't enough, it also has THE best score I've ever. I never fancied myself a Glass fan, but he really hit the mark here. His style of creating one motif that repeats and expands until breaking down into a new motif is interesting, but he seldom composes motifs that are really worth repeating and expanding upon, but now I think I may have been wrong about his work as a whole
