The title meaning where do they stand politically, Sandanista or Contra. This being written before the Iran/Contra scandal broke. One of Reagans big blunders, getting involved in that mess. Book is a brief history of how the division began. Let's lay it on the Somoza dictator family. Another one backed by the U.S. When will we learn? Daniel Ortega saw the opening and went for it. A wide range of perspective in the form of interviews from both sides of the issue. Reporter Peter Davis talks to leaders, military, and civilian citizens to try and reach a consensus. Seemed pretty equally divided, which I guess was the point. Just glad to live in a country where we decide our political differences at the ballot box rather than the battlefield. At least since the civil war. Trying to spread democracy will always be a noble cause but the fact remains we can't police the world.

The second book in the Hunger Games series. I just wish it was the last one. Apologies to the fans (Tracy, hatchetman). I have committed to reading all three. I will get to the last one. The wife told me this was better thanthe first one. I saw no difference. Nor should I, it's a series. Katniss gets drafted again. The mean old president is out to get her. It's because of her that her family and loved ones are in danger. She can't decide, Peeta or Gale. Hell, I can't even decide. Both seem like pretty cool dudes. She takes the love the one you're with approach. Peeta gets stolen at the end of this one. Now she'll have to save him. The suspense builds.

Much better than her second book which was just a rah-rah America thing. This one is an actual autobiography. About half from her childhood to the governership, the rest from her summons by John McCain onward. Most interesting for me was the well deserved condeming of the national media. Nothing new for those of us who followed the story. The most hated conservative woman in politics, at least by the left. No, I don't think she is qualified to be POTUS. Vice President, maybe, but then you've always got that possibilty of the death of a president. Especially someone as old as McCain. I don't think she deserved all the ridicule that was piled on her. But then, that's politics. You attack the person, not what they stand for.

I'm oddly fascinated by Sarah Palin. I know I shouldn't be. I hate her politics and think the woman is an idiot, but ... I can't help it.

Glad that trilogy is over. Where are my classics? Seventeen year old Katniss leads the rebels and saves the country from the evil President Snow and takes care of his replacement too. And she finally settles on Peeta. I wanted Gale. All the bad people die and I'm sure only the good ones survived to start a new country. Greed is dead. Long live poverty.

I am almost finished with Wittgenstein's Mistress by David Markson. I highly recommend it, what an amazing book. So different and so intriguing and so utterly insane.
