![]() I always looked forward to a new Moodies release. Don't think they had a bad album. This one is up there with the best. Love everything on side 1 and the final track which was the single that I recall, I'm Just A Singer, which reached #36 in the U.K. and #12 here. Actually I don't think I loved that song when it came out, but it's a classic now. Another single was Isn't Life Strange which fared better there at #13 and #29 here. Always loved how the group traded off lead vocals, every member represented here. Hayward or Lodge were always my favorite, with Thomas close behind. He gets my favorite track here with For My Lady, but the flute probably does it. This is the Moodies eighth album. It reached #5 in the U.K. and was the groups first #1 in the states. The band parted after the recording and tour for this album. Solo projects took root and it would be five years before they reunited for the next one. A long wait for me, but I loved the solo albums too. I LOVE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - When You're A Free Man Best Track - For My Lady My boat sails stormy seas Battles oceans filled with tears At last my port's in view Now that I've discovered you Oh I'd give my life so lightly For my gentle lady Give it freely and completely To my lady As life goes drifting by Like a breeze she'll gently sigh And slowly bow her head Then you'll hear her softly cry. Oh I'd give my life so lightly For my gentle lady Give it freely and completely To my lady Words that you say when we're alone Though actions speak louder than words But all I can say is I love you so To drive away all my hurt Oh I'd give my life so lightly For my gentle lady Give it freely and completely To my lady Set sail before the sun Feel the warmth that's just begun Share each and every dream They belong to everyone. Oh I'd give my life so lightly For my gentle lady Give it freely and completely To my lady 1) Lost In A Lost World *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3kbFKpE7_w 2) New Horizons *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG3M5Sh3tW4 3) For My Lady *** audio - For My Lady - YouTube 4) Isn't Life Strange *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR0gvasDEm4 5) You And Me ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7UZ5oVYmb8 6) The Land Of Make Believe ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5R44dN-L0Q 7) When You're A Free Man ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hMNI6T--DY 8) I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band) *** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_J-hmyAS6c 3's - 5 2's - 3 1's - 0 Grade - 2.6 so many albums, so little time

I have everything by them before 1980 ! They were heralded as a very underated band in the seventies, a real thinking man's group !

We can all be very fickle with our musical tastes, with us all changing what we like continually over time, however this has got to be my most consistently enjoyed albums. Purchased in 1995 and I still play it occassionally 17 years later. This brings back happy memories of when a friend of mine first left home and rented his first place to live. We used to get drunk at the local pub and I'd crash out on his front room on two bean bags that were pushed together...lol. I loved the way that Alanis Morrisette swung from bitter, twisted and angry to a sweet melodic vocal. I remember at the time nobody had a bad word to say about this artist. Good memories are invoked whenever I listen to this album.
