Bit random, but I was thinking the other day about how much Bohemian Like You by Dandy Warhols was played on radio and TV in the UK in the early 2000s. Such a mediocre song, but it was everywhere.

Brilliant way of putting it. I must admit though I really like the track, but only the live version from TSRTS.

Money by Pink Floyd. Good song that was nearly ruined for me due to its constant airplay (and the fact that some stations cut out the sax solo, which really bothered me). I haven't listened to the entire song for about a year just so I don't ruin it for myself.

I love Guns 'N Roses, but god do they play Sweet Child Of Mine so much...I listen to the radio very little as a result of this being so overplayed. (Along with many other songs that you start to hate due to repitition)

Can I just choose everything? Q104, the only real legit classic rock station in the NYC area must have a set-list of 150 songs. You listen enough, you hear the SAME songs everyday. I was able to time when Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side" would come on over the Summer. Was brutal.

Also, not sure if it counts, but I remember playing the old Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and it seemed that ANY TIME I turned on the classic rock station Billy Idol's "White Wedding" was playing, and anytime I turned on the "Modern rock" station "Welcome to the Jungle" was on. God, if you think current radio overplays music, just try the radio in that game. I couldn't listen to either song for legitimately 5 years without wanting to punch someone in the face.

Yes LMD, I stopped listening to the radio because of annoying overplaying of songs which at one time I loved and it being seperated out with lots of unpleasant and negative news. This is one of my reasons for wanting to learn an instrument. It gives me escapism from the unpleantries of the current world. I got sick of hearing the same negative stuff everyday.

I've stopped listening to radio, but there was a time when i did it all the time and for some reason i'd always end up listening to either Layla, Smooth or Sweet Home Alabama.
I really think it's a really a shame that it's the same songs that get played all the time when there's so much good music out there that doesn't get any airtime at all.

Yes, definitely. If I ran a radio station I'd not play the same track for at least 2 weeks.
