Cotton Mather - Kontiki
Sounds astonishlingly like The Beatles at times, due chiefly to a convincing Lennon vocal soundalike.

The Sound of Music - Rodgers and Hammerstein
I've just been to a cinema screening - I love this film soundtrack (my mum had it on vinyl and I knew all the words at about age 7). Now I've dragged my daughter into this madness
- A love story surrounded by nuns and nazis, what more could you want!

Oh who cares! so I've put something in the wrong genre again at least I didn't chose Electronic.
This was my thinking - mmmmh, not punk, not rock, not jazz, not electronic, not rap, not classical. So - either pop (no it's not Britney Spears) - so alternative it was. When Modest Mouse do a version of 'How do you solve a problem like Maria?' you'll see.
What is it with boys always wanting to categorise ad infinitum? Boys are weird!

Throwing Muses - Hunkpapa
This was my first window into the weird & wonderful world of Kristen Hersh. She's prolly my girly musical heroine.
This album is a sort of Pixies' gentler cousin, with more girlies.
BTW, Allmusic classify this as Pop/Rock, which is obviously bollocks.
