I know most people have probably never even heard of this band, but I just wanted to know if anyone could help me out. First of all, I love grunge music from the early 90's. It's the best music in my opinion. After listening to some of the more popular grunge bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Alice In Chains, I decided to look up some other less well known grunge bands. Skin Yard and Gruntruck were the ones that really stood out for me. I really liked lead singer and guitarist Ben McMillan's style. I then found out about Gruntruck's name change to "Mona Diesel" and them releasing a self titled album in 1999. Other than the one Mona Diesel song entitled "Warflower" on Ben McMillan's Myspace page, I haven't been able to find a single trace of any other Mona Diesel music anywhere on the internet. So if anyone knows of some online store that sells this CD or something like that it would be greatly appreciated.

G'day Jermars,
Do you still have the Mona Diesel mp3 tracks ?
Cannot find them ANYWHERE (apart from Warflower which is on Youtube). I don't think a CD was ever released..
Hoping you can help and we can resurrect this great music.

I still have the tracks listed above in my previous post in MP3 format on some pc. And just a FYI about Mona Diesel: they did release an independent disc. I believe if I recall there was 500 maybe 100 copies printed. It was only available locall in Seattle area record stores. And if my memory serves Jack Endino did the recording and producing. I'll try and dig up the MP3's and figure out some way to post them somewhere.

Oh and here is a link to some Mona Diesel tracks in RealPlayer format.
Mona Diesel (formerly known as Gruntruck) on Radi01 - Real Seattle Music
I don't know if they work cuz I am at work but it may be worthwhile to get a RealPlayer to MP3 converter to convert the files (if possible).
Link allowed as it does add to the discussion !

Thanks Jermars,
I can't get the Giantradio .ram links to play, i'd say the server that used to host them is down or even dead... or it could be that i'm in Australia and it does a revip lookup & blocks international listeners? Dunno.
Anyway if you have a chance to find the .mp3s that would be really awesome mate !!!
Also if anyone has a copy of the Mona Diesel CD, could they post a photo of it here for prosperity / archival purposes ?
I used to be in contact with Jack Endino years ago (I ran one of the first Skin Yard websites when I was a uni student) so i'll email him and see if he knows anything.

I do have the MP3's listed in my original post. Don't know where I can legally upload them to though. I did read somewhere on Jack Endino's site that he did tracking for Mona Diesel.

Do a ctrl-f and search for Mona Diesel looks like he did tracking in March.

G'day again Jermars, re: uploading the MP3s, I think it would be OK because the tracks are (or at least were) available to listen to for free on Giantradio, and also Jack Endino's Weed Cafe (which is offline now). I guess the main thing to consider is, would it be unfair to the band? I really don't think so as the CD/EP is not available to buy anyway. I'd be comfortable putting them on Youtube under my account and explaining the situation in the description area, and offer to remove them if necessary. At least this awesome music would then be available for people to listen to again, and once its on Youtube I think its pretty much guaranteed to be preserved forever ! What do you think? Cheers, Cronky
