What Are You Listening To?
Vision Creation Newsun-Boredoms

A noise rock masterpiece from Japan. This album is just plain crazy, no other way to describe. It's a noise rock album at it's core, but it takes a lot of influences like psychedlic rock, krautrock, musique concrete, and electronic. It's really in a class of it's own

On the laptop.

Her fifth, from 2006.

Thought at first that this would be another of those stereotypical Folky, Countryish singer-songwriter albums, but there's something appealing about the melodic delivery of her songs. She sounds a bit like Natalie Merchant, but is perhaps a bit Rockier in her approach.

Definite Buy-List material.

AllMusic 4.5/5 stars.

There is no genre for this album. Only Harry album I own. For good reason. This is not your mom and dad's Harry Connick Jr. When I purchased this, I knew it was out of Harry's normal crooner big band style of work. Think I heard Hear Me In The Harmony and bought it for that. Best thing on the album for me and it's not that great now. So many styles in this album, r&b, funk, rock, jazz, pop. Maybe that was the problem for me, too many styles. Once I settled into what the album was, it became something else. The four Star Turtle tracks are total crap. The story of some giant space turtle who comes to New Orleans to find music. Don't ask. After some great selling albums Harry got free rein, and I think he was probably reined back in after this album. It did reach #38 on the charts, and may have brought Harry some new fans. But I doubt that.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Star Turtle 2

Best Track - Hear Me In The Harmony

The city don't even matter
I could be anywhere
I don't care
There's a whole lotta hard workin people
That could take my place
And it's easy to leave
When nobody knows your face
Just close your eyes
You can hear me in the harmony
I came up in New Orleans
Fixin what I could find
To peace my mind
I gave what I had to the winners
Just to get along
But it's really hard to sing
When nobody hears your song
Just close your eyes
You can hear me in the harmony
I thought I learned from getting burned
I bought a suit of armor and a silver cane
I found a little man who'd be proud of me
But he had to get up early
And I had to get back to my pain
I guess I'll keep on livin
One day they'll ask for me
I'll be free
And if there's a heaven
I'll be ready for my life to begin
But I wonder if I call
If they're gonna let me in
Open your eyes
You can hear me in the harmony

dont own any Harry or Buble albums....they both just seemed too pretentious and cocky for my liking, guess their persona puts me off them?!

I didn't really enjoy the Middle Cyclone album because of the reasons you cited, Tiggi ! This one was much better taking Neko in a different direction...less commercial orientated I think .

Fear of Music-Talking Heads

Part 3 in a 4-part string of brilliant albums released by this band. It's certainly nowhere near the follow-up in terms of quality, but it's still really really good. Man, what a great band. Whenever someone says the Beatles are the greatest band ever, it makes me sad because I think about all these amazing bands who have made so much better and more creative music taking seond seat to pop band in the minds of most people

I held back on this one forever because everyone kept saying how itwas their worst and they became a shell of themselves. It's actually really good, better than "Bossanova" even. It's not as good as the first two, but that sort of goes without saying
