The Civil Wars band is an indie folk duo consists of singer-songwriters Joy Williams and John Paul White. On February 2011, The Civil Wars Band released their debut album Barton Hollow, which in its first week, became the No. 1 downloaded album on iTunes. The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Digital Albums chart, No. 12 on The Billboard 200, No. 2 on the Billboard Folk Albums chart, and No. 3 on the Billboard Rock Albums chart. The Civil Wars band got a boost of their reputation when Taylor Swift tweeted about them in late 2010.

I have a love-hate relationship with them. A friend of mine started sending me vimeo clips of them before the album was released. She lives in Georgia where they played quite a bit. I like the harmonies but for some reason it also gets old rather quickly for me too.
