2 CD live set documenting LC's 2008 tour, staged to help him recover from being severely financially ripped off.
Leonard & a crack band (including Music Head's bete noire Sharon Robinson) play an excellent set of material from throughout his career. Demonstrates that Leonard's reputation for being gloomy is ill-founded, as he cracks jokes throughout the set.
A fanatical audience contribute much to a great live album.
AllMusic 4/5 stars.

Also Leonard's Songs from the Road is great ! What's the story on Sharon Robinson ?

Just my thing Steve
Leonards last two albums she had heavy involvement
That's when he went downhill for me.
The last one Dear Heather was absolutely horrible in comparison to other work.
No evidence that she is to blame, other than she was there, taking over more of the vocals, plus producing.

1989 release from under-appreciated Brit band.
Chris Difford & Glen Tilbrook are/were superior song-writers who focussed on everyday life, and found some wonderful material in what others may consider mundane subject matter.
Whatever the subject matter, the melodies are great, and I have a soft spot for Tilbrook's vocals. Jools Holland's last album with the band, so he gets to sing one as well.
The AllMusic review is pretty strong, but the score doesn't reflect this...
AllMusic 2/5 stars

nothing wrong with that, Ray Davies/Marriot-Laine both made a career out of it

Absolutely agree. Making good music out of stuff that everyone can relate to seems to be a bit of a lost art. Madness did it well also.

the Brits have a real tradition of singing about "everyday life" which makes them truly unique IMO

Yes if I analysed my total library it would be at least 70% Brit.
