I believe I ordered the large cappuccino... HELLO!
#1
Hi everyone.

I recently joined a book club at work, and thought to myself I'd really like to do this but with music. So here I am...
I really want to discover new music for myself, and talk a little bit with different people about all things music. So I hope I can do that here!
Some of my favorites are, but not limited to: Interpol, Vampire Weekend, Beirut, Coldplay, John Mayer, The Beatles, Phoenix, Pete Yorn, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, The Strokes, Radiohead, The Smiths, Keane, Travis, Imogen Heap, Miike Snow, U2, Michael Buble, Billie Holiday, Yanni, Band of Horses, The Hello Sequence, The Radio Dept, Mumford & Sons....

I really like Indie music, but I love all kinds. I'm married to a man who loves country music, much to my dismay, but he enjoys it and that's what music is all about!

Anyway hope to talk with more people very soon! Thanks for reading...

Hello and welcome to the forum. Smile

If you need any indie recommendations, you can some to me. Also, The Strokes and Radiohead are awesome, so thumbs up for that. You do listen to quite a variety of music which is pretty awesome too.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome to the site - don't know much about country music to be quite honest but one album that I was introduced to which I happen to think of as one of the best engineered albums I have ever heard (I can't fault a single note on it) is The Rankin Family's 'North Country'. As I say, not really a fan of this sort of thing but this album is truly exceptional. Pure Class. Give this a listen if you have the time.

Absolutely right, J ! They are from Nova Scotia (Cape Breton actually) and the album you mentioned is flawless !!!!

Also a warm welcome to Indie....you listen to a large repertoire of music...like many of us here ! I hope to hear from you soon !
Just out of curiosity , have you listened to Lucinda Williams ? I think this may be an artist that both your country music husband and yourself may enjoy together !

Welcome to MD!
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.
