Wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments about human capacity to inflict cruelty on animals. Our last dog but one was a sad case, and was also a rescue dog. She was so scared when we visited the kennel that she wouldn't look anyone in the eye, but then she licked Mrs Tiggie's hand, and that was all it took. She was a Lurcher, which can be timid anyway, but my heart broke when I picked up a stick to throw for her when we got her home, and she just cowered on the ground expecting a beating. She had a great life with us though.
Your girl looks gorgeous, and I'm sure it will be a rewarding experience to rehabilitate her, although no doubt there'll be problems along the way...

it just breaks my heart when i read stories about abuse of any kind, whether it be kids, women, or animals....Gutless cowards...the only way to describe them,im afraid...they aint got the balls to pick on a man.
well heres the 'hatrick'...we had a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Rottweiller cross...she was abused physically by her previous owner....a cop!, she used to cower and wimper whenever i watered the lawn with a garden hose as she was beaten for yrs with a garden hose. Ridgebacks and Rotties are usually quite outgoing and confident dogs, she wasnt, she was a dosile as our Retreiver, it was such a shame,we had her for 4 yrs till the little kids came along so we gave her to a friend who owns a farm, now she has acres and acres to run around on,and an elderly couple who have the time to love her like a child...and shes very happy!
if i had my way abusers of any kind would be strung up and abused themselves...an eye for an eye!

well it was rather cool here today, about 22C/70F with a few spots of rain thrown in the mix, normally i'd say that temperature was warmish but due to 40C/100F lately, it is cool.

Still cold, but the sun's out today.
Forecast is for a big swing in temperature over the next 24 hours.
Big thaw, usually followed by widespread floods, but not here...
