Didn't put an author here because there is not really any one individual. This was put together by Stalins advisors shortly after the war, from interrogations of two of Hitlers main men who were captured. Putting aside the credibility, it's a very good book. I only question that because there is no telling under what conditions the information was extracted if you get my drift. I'm sure it wasn't entirely voluntary. These documents that the book was put together from lay deep in the Russian archives until it crumbled. Very noticable is the lack of anything negative about Russia. According to the book Russia never lost a battle once they were invaded and easily defeated the Germans with hardly any help. I find that hard to believe. Now having put down the sources and the conditions, as I said, it's very good. Covers all of the war years with Hitler, his decision making for each invasion. Became a real page turner towards the end, when all were huddled in the bunker waiting for the inevitable.

Follow up to 2001 as if we needed one. Used to be a big sf fan. Not so much anymore, but every once in awhile I go back. It's that whole vastness of the universe thing I can't seem to wrap my tiny brain around. This takes up with a recovery mission for Discovery that stupid Hal screwed up. The mission failed only because of new discoveries on Jupiter and some mishaps along the way. The crew made it back, or did they?

Kept feeling like Betty White was talking to me when I was reading this.
Basically this is an autobiography as she zips through her early years before meeting George, then goes in depth from their marriage on. Shouldn't an autobio make you like the person more? This one didn't do that for me. Nothing really negative, just too dry. Maybe you have to be a woman. Parts where she talks about events that happened are ok. I'd say at least half of it is notes from her journal that she kept over the years. Too much talking about lunches/dinners they either attended or hosted. Then she goes into detail about what was served and the attire that was worn. Please, spare me. The woman should did lead a priveleged life once she hooked up with George. From a moderate income family, once she was married she was home free, with George's daddy already being a senator. Don't think she did a thing domestically once hitched. Not that she's not appreciative of that. A long book. Too long.

Not terrible for a chick book. My daughter read this and turned it over to me. Figured I'll be seeing the movie soon on dvd, so why not? Elizabeth recalls her journey after dumping her husband to, I don't know, find herself I guess. Traveled for a year in Italy, India and Indonesia to do that. I determined she ate in Italy, prayed in India and loved in Indonesia. Just me, but if I was going to travel, Italy I could handle, but no way would I pick the other two. Whatever floats your boat. Well written, but not much that interested me.
