Hello From Portland

Just lost my job, which is a bad thing. But it gives me more time to work on some music projects and join some music forums, which is a good thing. Nice to meet you all in MD

Welcome to MD

There's more to life than a job.............makes some difference though .....come and enjoy MDCool
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

Hello Mike, & welcome to MD.

I also commiserate over your job loss. It's never pleasant, but it can open up new opportunities.

Hope you enjoy the site.

One door closes - another opens. RUST NEVER SLEEPS! Welcome to the forum. What kind of music are you working on?

I'm a child of 80s music, so mentally, I'm a little stuck there Smile Got a new Yamaha Clavinova baby grand about 6 months ago, so maybe that will lead me in new directions.

Would you care to try and do some work on an instrumental album I am working on. I have used a Roland A37 to trigger midi samples of Tascam's Gigapiano sampler. Quite realistic but still not good enough. And I am basically a guitarist not a pianist and it shows! New to the forum so I can't post links or have PM's etc, etc. Collaborating with a number of other musicians in USA, Canada, London etc. in order to produce my 'magnum opus' which, by the way, has zero sales potential. Clue - Jerome Disney 'auralscapes'. Hope you find it. You never know what's around the corner........

On the other hand you might not like the stuff at all - no harm - each to his own.

The band I really like from the 80's is Talk Talk - try their 'Live at Montreux' DVD - great band. Love 'Spirit of Eden', 'The Colour of Spring' and 'The Party's Over' - play all three quite a lot. Very original material. And found a brilliant solo album by Tony Banks recently called 'A Curious Feeling' - great if you like early/old Genesis stuff. Good keyboards.

Jerome - found the site - good stuff! I'm going to pass on the collaboration for now. In NO way does that reflect on the music you've created. My wife was sitting here as I was listening to it - she really liked the clips I played as well.

I think for now I want to remake some of my older work and submit it into some contest websites for fun and feedback. I'm gathering a list of those now. But I look forward to hearing about your progression on your project. Zero sales potential...that sounds familiar Smile
