^^ Stream of consciousness is the method used to portray capturing someone's raw thought processes, without any form of filter or punctuation.
I've encountered it in James Joyce's Ullyses, and Virginia Woolf's To The Lighthouse.
Managed to finish the latter OK (it's fairly short), but have never managed to complete Ullyses because of the trauma of trying to make sense of it.
