What Are You Reading ?
^^ Stream of consciousness is the method used to portray capturing someone's raw thought processes, without any form of filter or punctuation.

I've encountered it in James Joyce's Ullyses, and Virginia Woolf's To The Lighthouse.

Managed to finish the latter OK (it's fairly short), but have never managed to complete Ullyses because of the trauma of trying to make sense of it.

A stupid sub-title for sure. One of those unauthorized biographies. The kind that make you think, "is that really true?" A lot of unnamed sources which are easy to quote. Treats the queen fairly well, but sure goes after the rest of the family. Mainly Philip, not having much nice to say about the old chap. Details the affairs of all the siblings and even Princess Margaret. I was more interested in the workings of the system. No, seriously, I was. I think Mr. Davies thought the monarchy would have withered away by now. This was written before Dianas death. I give credit for a very well done bio. He could probably write another book on what's happened since he wrote this one. Maybe he has.

I am reading The White Queen by Philippa Gregory. Its a fictional story based on some fact about Elizabeth Woodville, who married the King Of England. She was the mother of the two princes who disappeared in the Tower of London obviously the conclusion by all is that they were murdered, even though nobody knows who by, although the finger normally points at Richard 3rd.

I am finding it interesting, because the other is speculating that the youger boy was actually a page boy sent in instead of theprince, who has been smuggled into hiding.

the theory behind this being, "if you have twp precious jewels, that you want to keep safe from thieves, would you put both in the same basket???"

and it does make sense, if you thought your eldest son was in danger, why would you send in the second one?

interesting Smile

i am also liking it, because Richard 3rd was killed at The Battle of Bosworth, and Bosworth Battle Field isn't far from where i grew up, and i remember a school visit to it as a child Smile

My fourth time I think, but I had to give it one more. Been a long time. I always just think of this as how Orwell saw Europe if Hitler would have won. Pretty scary stuff. I love Big Brother.
