Wow! a whole class in one fell swoop.
Welcome to the forum Kingma. How many are in the class, and what grade level(s) does that represent?
10-05-2010, 09:43
Ha-ha. I have about 200 learners that are interested. I showed them last week how forums work and this week we going to practise it. They are from Grade 4-9 learners at a remedial school.

Cool. Then welcome to all 200.
Hope they are all into music as we are, all kinds. If the exercise is learning how forums work, how did you happen to choose a music forum?

I suppose they know a lot about music - easiest way to let them see how forums work. I'm not gonna register each one individeually, but they see it on the big screen. Thanx for replying - now I can show the other classes later how the replying work. I will post later comments on what they say.

Hi Prospectus Novus School, & welcome to you all.
This is novel, I hope this is all very informative for you. We'll be on our best behaviour, and will need to watch our punctuation !! What's the weather like today in SA ??

Hi again. The class is sitting in front of me and looking with beautiful eyes at the screen. According to them it was raining this morning (and that's true), but luckily the sun is trywing to shine again. Our names are: Reba, Momane, Loy, Philile, Fikile, Tiisetso, kevin, Lethabo, Kamogelo, Nhlahla. Most of us are proud black South-Africans and we only have one white African in the class. Most of us like Hip-hop, R&B, Jazz. We are hoping for a quick reply so that they can see it. Regards Ps..... i'm doing the typing otherwise they will take ages to do it!!! Jaco Kingma

Hi again. I'll bring my camera tomorrow to school and take a few foto's. The class sitting in front of me are all Afrikaans speaking learners - that's our second biggest official language in South Africa! Their names are: Magda, Eldene, Monique, Geraldine, Benita, Wynand, Jacques, Armand, Wilandri, Jan, Jean-Pierre, Kobus, hardus, Jeandre etc. The music that they like: Black IP's, Boere music, Hip-hop, rave. Most of them are white and a lot of them like traditional Afrikaans music. They just all love music ...... and they are practising very hard to sing the National Anthem loud and clear during the soccer. Anyone of you coming to South Africa for the soccer?? The next piece of writing is typical Afrikaans ... just for you to see how it lokks like:
Goeie dag. Ons is trotse Suid-Afrikaners wat binnekort die wêreldbeker sokker aanbied. Die dae word al hoe minder voor die eerste afskop. Ons sien baie uit daarna en hoop om van julle hier te sien!!! Groete (Regards) |
