UK TOP 100 SUMMARY AND REVIEW 7.02.25 #19

TOP TEN:

Teddy Swims may spend his last week in the top ten with 'The Door' at 10. Tate McRae has a big sales fall with 'Sports Car' at 9, as The Weeknd's last album sees the single 'Cry For Me' enter new at 8. The Weeknd also has his Carti collab 'Timeless' re-enter top ten territory. At 6, 'Abracadabra' is the highest new entry, and 'Sailor Song' has a 700-point sales drop. 'The Days' starts its fall off as it experiences a drop in sales at 4. Gracie Abrams 'That's So True' is continuing a sales drop as well at 3, which makes 'APT' a solid level above Gracie but still having a light sales drop at 2. And staying put at the number one spot with only a slight dip in the chart units is 'Messy' by Lola Young.

NEW ENTRIES:

89. The Greatest—Billie Eilish (5/10)

Let's not overhype this; it's a guitar ballad where Billie does her usual light vocals. I would love to understand why people love her so much, but I never can; her music doesn't appeal to me. It feels really monotonous; I just can't get over that it's all the same too.

81. Nissan Altima—Doechii (8/10)

It's really giving the assertive, dominant attitude that we love from Doechii. Not only does this have the ability to go trending, but it's also unique rap that you only tend to hear from Doechii. Keep it up!

67. I Don't Want To Live Like This - James Mariott (7.5/10)

Extremely solid; sounds like this could be something… one of 2025's future big hits? It combines pop and rock and has an emotional atmosphere, but it's not pushed in a forceful way and feels like it has a more controlled flow to relate to, really well made, and I may give it a replay.

64. Love Hangover—Jennie/Dominic Fike (3.5/10)

Previous listen:

This sounded like a tragic mess. I don't even know what to make of this. I would recommend giving this song to Disney so they can throw it in a cheap movie because this is trash.

44. I'm The Problem—Morgan Wallen (6/10)

Classic Morgan, he makes a hit, then a flop, and repeats the process. This is good, but it's not good enough for hit status. It follows the classic guitar-bar song with Morgan's reflective lyrics. I just wish this had more of a catch that begs for a replay. I'm not asking for a radio hit, just something that has a new feeling.

8. Cry For Me—The Weeknd (7/10)

Every single release pushed on "Hurry Up Tomorrow" feels so different from the last that I have no idea how The Weeknd's going to pull this album off. In the short term, this was an enjoyable song; it felt dark and gave a pop-R&B entrance, which was appealing and felt intriguing to the upcoming songs, although this wasn't the best thing I've heard and felt it could've done with a catchier hook. It definitely wasn't a disappointment for my expectations.

6. Abracadabra—Lady Gaga (8/10)

Seeing Gaga's upcoming album has songs called 'Garden Of Eden' and 'The Beast,' and seeing the song references the devil in a more darker setting, I wouldn't be surprised if she was going to pull another 'Judas' moment. But you know I'm not biased and only rate off the actual song, so it's actually very catchy and grew a lot from the first listen. It's a pump of electronic energy that reminds me of Gaga's older era of dance music and brings back her style in a jam-packed party bop that concerns finding the magic through the challenges. It's a pleasing song and sets a high standard for the rest of 'MAYHEM.'

RE ENTRIES:

[Overrated]

62. Casual—Chappell Roan

[Hugely overhyped.]
