Favourite piece was 'Under the Moon'. Justin Hurwitz's music for the movie 'First Man' was definitely better than the 'extended version' but you have to remember that they were each created 'in their own time'. I have been listening to Ebb & Flow – thanks Jerome! I like the ending – in fact I really like the whole of the third movement on ii. Favourite sections would be that one, the third movement on i (love the bells/crystal thingies, if that’s what they are - among other growlier aspects - and the build-up) and the first on ii as well – after the intro. The ‘lines’ are good – great flow – super ethereal.
It really must take some doing – getting all those layers and components into a cohesive and pleasing whole – I would not know where to begin! Painting in sound - an immersive experience. Well done say I - certainly not something any ol’ body can achieve.

Thx Ruby - I wasn't expecting that. Anyway you use two terms that I like - 'painting in sound' and 'immersive'. It is what it is. A creative pursuit to stave off the boredom of everyday existence. It's no masterpiece but I had fun doing it. And normally when I finally complete one of these projects the temptation is to start a new one straight away but I think I need to hold off until I get a really decent idea for something different. Time will tell.
It's four in the morning and while I was reading your post - who comes on the radio - Steely Dan singing 'Ruby, Ruby'. Never heard this track before - might be a Donald Fagen solo effort??? Will check it out.
Had a look around the web - turns out it is a track from Donald Fagen's solo effort 'The Nightfly'. BTW where did the 'Ruby' moniker come from?
And I am going to use the 'Zen Frequencies' title I abandoned some time ago for the new project. So this decision is pointing me in the direction of an ambient project of sorts.

Well then - looking forward to Zen Frequencies, whatever they turn out to be! Speaking of which, it's always so interesting to me how the three ohms at the beginning of our yoga class sound so different each time, for one thing, but how that vibration at the end extends too - apparently on its own.
Re the moniker. Some of my oldest friends refer to me as ‘Roo’ or ‘Roonie’, so there was that, then there’s Roux which is red, and it was around the time of crossing a personal Rubicon (incidentally derived from red) so I guess it all conspired! And I am obliged to have a very public, accessible persona in my work life (regrettably but of necessity) and I felt like having something that was not associated with all that. Also, there wasn’t another one on the forum. So now you have the mind map, or should I say the meandering garden path. LOL!

BASEMENT JAXX "the singles" 2005
from Lynne's cd collection
UK electronic-dance duo
only familiar with a couple of their singles prior to this,
one of which i absolutely love, the other i liked so the rest is new to me
contains singles from their first three studio albums
couldnt believe how many hits they had in the UK especially (but Europe and Australia too!)
had a few hits on the Billboard dance charts too
although it wasnt that doof-doof type crap it was still pretty bad and still only like the two i know already
all i can say is that if these are the hits then how bad are their studio albums!
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM
fave and one of the creepiest videos ever made IMO

H333 "h3000" vinyl 2021
an early birthday gift from Lynne
(she likes getting things people do not expect)
i think she got this because it is by Luke Steele
he is vocalist/songwriter for two Aussie bands i like, Sleepy Jackson and Empire Of The Sun.
this one is more electro-pop than those two artists, lots of vocorder usage and synth grooves.
interesting to hear muso's i like do something outside their comfort zone and not too bad IMO
more for background music or music whilst i am relaxing
did i like it?, im not sure, but it wasnt that goddam
