Well we just had storm Eowyn last week Thursday into Friday. Ireland is hopelessly unprepared for this kind of event. Some people will only have their power back up and running on the 5th Feb. My own area was not that badly affected apart from power failure for a while but other parts of the country have no water, electricity, phone coverage, broadband etc. etc. and some houses have been demolished. Saw a pic on the news of a wind turbine that had simply collapsed - you'd think that is the one item that would be designed to withstand wind??!!?? A young guy got killed by a falling tree up North somewhere. A Boeing flight from LA to London landed an hour or so earlier than expected after catching a lift on the fringes of the storm - must have been some flight...
