UK TOP 100 SUMMARY & REVIEW 18.10.24 #3 (SORRY FORGOT TO UPLOAD THIS)
Ooooh, this is an interesting week, and there's definitely a lot to get into! Including contreversy! Let's start with the
TOP 10:
Jumping into the top 10 is 'Move' at 10, which sees a pleasant jump, and the gap isn't that big to see it rise more in the next week. Replacing 'Please, please, please' we see 'Bed Chem' enter at 9 with a decent performing week, at 8. Despite the backlash, we see 'Thick Of It' by KSI and Trippie Redd jump into the top 10, which is Sam Wiched between No. 9 and 'Sympathy Is A Knife' at 7, which was slipping throughout the week and fell face first down 5 spots from where it originally was. 'Hot To Go' loses sales this week but still sees a climb up 4 spots to 6! Also slipping in sales is 'Somedays' at 5, and at 4 we see 'I Love You, I'm Sorry.' Leap into the top 10 just a tad behind Gigi Perez. Speaking of Gigi, Gigi climbs up 3 spots to No. 3. The sales are on her side, and she could catch 'Die With A Smile' by Gaga and Mars, which is up to 2 despite having a noticeable fall in sales. And holding onto no.1 for the 8th week is 'Taste' becoming the UK's longest-running no.1 of 2024; it slips in sales and downloads but has a nice boost in the streaming category.

Apparently this is a re entry. Despite having a remix, "Indestructible" counts as a new song because it has a remix?? Whatever you say, I guess.

77: Aperol Spritz, Kid Laroi
Ehhhh, I remember this being better than my first listen. I just don't like the mood this gives and the way it comes across; it all feels very basic and actually lacks whatever it's trying to give you. Is this supposed to be a serious or a fun track? The music video doesn't help either; there's only ever been one song I liked by this guy, and I don't think this era of music will give me another, sadly.
74: Why Lie—Skepta/Flo Milli
My reposted review:
Your average "in the hood" song with a back and forth between Skepta and Flo talking about the obvious dodgy stuff I cannot mention and basically flexing. Keep living your dream, but this song is nothing to flex.
Extra: It's still as bad on the next listen; nothing more to add.
66: Indestructible, Andy C/Becky Hill/Disrupta
A new remix does not make this a new entry!! Anyway, this is good like the original, and I thought Andy C was a good choice to make this; the production has flavour and character, and so does Becky's voice.

What even is this? This is a new level of "could've done better." Such a weak track.
Added: The way her voice moves sounds like a sassy teenage girl and makes this less like a song; it's more speaking. This is weak for me, and not much was done to add to this.
9: Bed Chem by Sabrina Carpenter
The lyrics to this peak at a new level of cringe. As much as the beat to this is actually bearable and sounds classy, I think more of an effort could've been put here.. or maybe not more effort, just different decision-making like the flow of the song and how to sing it. The lyrics are honestly the only real turnoff here though.
