Revisiting Marillion's F E A R which I have not listened to for a while now. Had forgotten how good it is. One of those you can really sit with, and absorb.

Because it's a concept album and the tracks run into one another a lot of the time, it's difficult to single one out, but I have ...

Mark Knopfler's Privateering, mostly due to one track and for a somber reason I'm sorry to say. There has very recently been a tragic freak accident aboard one of our submarines - three sailors lost their lives - two men and one woman. The sub was en-route from here to Cape Town and it was a helicopter transfer gone horribly wrong. Being an historic navy town, regular citizens can't help but be acutely aware of the awfulness of the incident and the toll it has taken is almost tangible. Dreadful for their families ...  Sad

SPLIT ENZ  "mental notes"  cd, 1975.

New Zealand band...
debut of ten...
album sits firmly in the 'art rock' and 'prog rock' gernes...
hearing some Tull influences on a few tracks...
really, really good album from Mr Tim Finn and cohorts...

Today's pick - with all the crap going on in Israel and all the other conflicts around the world this song remains as relevant as ever.
