What Are You Listening To?

WINGS  "greatest" 1978

borrowed from a friend on cd but i do own the cd/vinyl,
just wanted something i know and love to listen to whilst mine are all still packed away in moving boxes...
contains twelve classic singles but two are not by Wings: ('another day' by Paul, and 'uncle albert/admiral halsey' by Paul & Linda)...
makes you realise how many great singles Paul released in that first decade post-Beatles and just how well this stacks up against the Beatles singles discography...
I LOVE THIS ALBUM:

fave on this occasion:

tracks:

1:   another day  ***
2:   silly love songs  ***
3:   live & let die  **
4:   juniors farm  ***
5:   with a little luck  ***
6:   band on the run  ***
7:   uncle albert/admiral halsey  ***
8:   hi hi hi  ***
9:   let 'em in  ***
10: my love  ***
11: jet  **
12: mull of kintyre  ***

Been thinking about Ruby's 50 greatest songs thread and I have three contenders for that title but more about that later. So I was thinking about my favourite album of all time and after much thought it comes down to this baby. If I was ever stranded on a desert island and I could only have one album to listen to it would have to be this one.

BTW I am STILL listening to Domini Miller's 'Vagabond' album in the car. I would normally change the disc every week or so but every time I listen to this album I hear something new. An album that has got under my skin in a big way. Thx for the recco Ruby - the best thing I have bought in ages. Must check out any other stuff he might have. Apart from his session work with Richard Wright & Sting I know very little about this guy. It's a very jazz orientated project. A genre I know very little about but this album has me hooked. Perfect early morning or evening chillout sounds. A glass of Chateaux du Plonk and this album and the whole world just seems a lot, lot better - a magical album for sure. Simple and complex all at the same time. The best 20 bucks I have spent in years.

^^Think I’m going to need a 'mixtape' for my desert island! It really is a totally subjective exercise.

Re Dominic Miller, I've listened to all three of his ECM releases - Silent Light, Absinthe and Vagabond. For me, the choice is first and most recent. Not that there's anything wrong with Absinthe, I must add - https://www.music-discussion.com/showthr...#pid136048
