There's a new album out - The Endless Coloured Ways: The Songs of Nick Drake. It's an authorised anthology of 23 of his songs covered by various artists. I haven't heard them all yet. A little risky, I'd have thought! Will be interesting to hear the different interpretations. I happen to think this is well done and not missing any of the pathos -

I seriously doubt that! Surely there must be a pathos somewhere in all those Pulitzers??

Well - I've listened to some of the covers and don't like most of what I've heard, including David Gray's one. This, however, is strangely mesmeric. John Grant has a stunning voice - not a big fan of his music generally, but one or two of his songs are great. This interpretation is unexpected, musically speaking, and somehow works IMHO, along with the atmospherically apocalyptic feeling clip ...
