NEW ALBUM: FIRST AID KIT ~ Palomino

FIRST AID KIT ~ Palomino

The music marketplace is awash with B sides and Boxsets so was pleased to see First Aid Kit putting in an appearance with an actual album. Very much more pop than Ruins, but hey – they know melody, they have perfect pitch, they know harmony, and they know restraint – unfamiliar territory for a lot of mainstream artists. They’re not ABBA but they are definitely upholding a proud Swedish tradition of making hugely satisfactory sounds.

For me, not as enchanting as Ruins – there’s pop, and then there’s pop lite. The latter shows up a bit too much here for my taste. If you’re gonna give me sugar – give it to me wholeheartedly. Anyway – pretty sure MH and CH might like this if they dipped their toes in the water … beats the hell out of pretty much everything else out there ATM, IMHO. Apologies for acronyms which I may as well have written out by the time I’ve said sorry for ‘em. LOL! Funny ol’ world we are currently navigating our way through. Taylor Schmaylor ... just a lil' gauntlet  Big Grin . They definitely have the edge as far as I'm concerned, with one reservation - sounds like they are trying to appease the USA market. Then again - the earth has become a village, so maybe not!!

LOL! This is a lot less folky than the previous one which I think I preferred.
BTW - just teasing you about Taylor MH - no offence intended! I get bored and start talking rubbish to entertain myself.  Dodgy

solid album Ruby...

after listening and loving their previous album this was a real 'pop' shock to the stystem.
still, some elements of folk (folk-esque) splashed around....

favourites for me on a first up listen:
