It’s true – they don’t – thank goodness. Wow – there is a whole lot of pretentious gobblydegook out there at the moment. Seems as though people are trying to outdo one another in the outrageous titles department. I mean, seriously … Into This Juvenile Apocalypse our Golden Blood to Pour Let Us Never???!!!
Mr Guy has a lot of voomah for an octogenarian and he appears to be doing just fine judging by the twinkle in his eye! Voice is there, guitar is there, no missteps – an accomplished set - there are worse ways to start the day.
Nothing particularly mind blowing, just good old reliable blues of a certain standard. There are some guest artists, (or feats) – Mavis Staples (also still going strong), Elvis Costello, James Taylor, Bobby Rush, Jason Isbell & Wendy Moten. He does tackle a few thorny subjects but as an observer rather than an evangelist.
