track features Ukranian singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk on vocals...
personally, i would have preferred it to be by David Gilmour as opposed to using the PF Legacy for entertainment/media notoriety.

Well it's certainly getting a huge amount of publicity which is exactly what was intended. Even made the news on our local yokel music radio station! That same clip of Khlyvnyuk was remixed by The Kiffness here a little while back - he does a lot of politically based parody - The Kiffness, that is. Both are essentially 'charity singles' - completely different takes, of course. Dude has a voice laden with acres of painful history, I'll give him that.

would have been nice for Roger and David to sort out their differences for this charity song especially as Waters has built a career over songs/albums relating to the horrors of war??

Probably never going to happen.
Definitely not what I would call a PF track but good, bad or ugly, nobody's pretending it's anything other than in support of Ukraine. Boombox (sans Khlyvnyuk) has played backing for Gilmour before I see, so he has a relationship with the band.

Heard this in the car yesterday. Does not really do anything for me. Pink Floyd it certainly is not. But Mr Gilmour's intentions are good.

im not a huge fan but it was always the guitar sound that made Pink Floyd IMO and there is certainly nothing coming out of Gilmour's "axe" on that song IMO...
if i didnt know it was PF it could be any one of a thousand bands playing.
in the last few years they have certainly put a couple of 'little stains' on their legacy with that "endless river" album made up of outtakes and unfinished pieces plus now this.
but yes, the sentiment and intentions are there with the new one, (bot on a personal level, not a musical one!)
