ELVIS PRESLEY "fun in Acapulco" cd 1963 (OST)
his thirteenth movie.
filmed entirely in Hollywood, not Mexico.
ranks in his top five worst movies and soundtracks for me.
and rightfully so with songs titled "theres no room to rhumba in a sportscar",
"the bullfighter was a lady" and "you cant say no in Acapulco"...
only shining light from the soundtrack was the hit single "bossa nova baby"
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM
i actually liked the remix of the song that was done five or six years ago also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNfKjYb6Y5M
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

ELVIS PRESLEY "Frankie & Johnny" (OST) cd, 1966
from his twentieth movie.
they stretched out a three minute song into a ninety minute movie and thats what it is.
i cannot bare to watch this movie, and the soundtrack...
theres nothing on it even remotely that comes close to a pass grade.
WOW, was surprised to find it reached platinum status in his homeland??.
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM
best of a bad bunch:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight

ELVIS PRESLEY "loving you" cd, 1957
from his second movie.
vintage presley, filled with '50s rock/pop classics.
good stroyline, great songs, youthful energetic Presley showing why he was called The King
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
could pick just about any track off here:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

ELVIS PRESLEY "spinout" (OST) cd, 1966.
fromhis twenty-second movie...
surely even hardcore fans would have been getting frustrated with these shitty movies/songs back in the day.
twelve tracks, only nine from the movie, the three bonus tracks are the best on here and theyre covers!
Kui Lee's "ill remember you", Clovers' "down in the alley" and Dylan's "tommorow is a long time".
so, liking three of the movie songs out of nine, and the three covers.
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM
favourite overall, the Dylan cover which Dylan himself said, "Presley's version is the one i treasure the most" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dRNZZuuR8I
favourite from the movie:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

ELVIS PRESLEY "girls!, girls!, girls!" (OST) cd, 1962.
only a handful of soundtracks to go now....
from his twelfth movie.
wasnt a bad movie as far as Presley movies go.
a platinum selling album, probably moreso for the #1 hit "return to sender" as opposed to the movie.
liking half the tracks, disliking the remainder.
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM
favourite by a country mile:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight

ELVIS PRESLEY "viva las vegas" (OST) cd, 1964
lots of good songs on this one and a good movie also.
most songs could survive outside the movie.
lots on onscreen chemistry between Presley and Ann-Margaret.
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
favourite is the title track but i like the chemistry between the two in this song:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

VARIOUS ARTISTS "forrest gump" - OST cd, 1994
from the movie of the same name...
two disks, 32 rock classics from 1956-1980...
classy compilation regardless of whether it was a soundtrack or not.
great film,
great performance from Hanks
equally great music
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
the movie clip:
and the full clip of Presley performing it:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight

I've been listening to a mostly classical radio station lately - they play lighter stuff too and this morning, this caught my ear ...
They also interviewed Kevin Smuts a couple of days ago - he was responsible for the soundtrack of My Octopus Teacher which has been winning awards left, right and center! Deservedly so IMHO - now shortlisted for the Oscars ...

THE BEATLES "love" cd, 2006
a gift from a friend...
a remix album, remixed by George and Giles Martin to fit with a concept show from Cirque Du Soleil's "beatles themed show"...
liking some of what the Martin's have done on here but outside of the show it is pointless for the most part..
just an interesting curiosity which may or may not get another listen...
one from the show:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.
