IT - chapter II
the almost three hour conclusion to the 2017 remake of Stephen King's classic novel.
if you've watched the original mini-series starring Tim Curry but not this one, I urge you to watch it as Bill Skarsgård takes Pennywise's character to another level altogether.
much better ending than the King novel and the original mini-series too.
the movie made almost 500 million USD at the cinema worldwide, around half of the one billion USD that Chapter one made.

Comedy.
stars Dwayne "the rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart.
not a fan of Hart generally, I find him false, his humour forced and overall, annoying.
Dwayne, not a great actor but has charisma, makes fun of himself, always cool and an allround nice guy.
movie is about a CIA operative trying to crack an international arms ring (Johnson) who brings in his old school pal (Hart) as an unknowing assistant.
brain use is not necessary with this one but a sense of humour is welcome.

psychological thriller.
starts off well, falls a bit flat in the middle/latter stages and picks up steam again towards the finale.

my pay by the month Netflix subscription finished today and I cancelled it for a short while,
went over to "Stan", a similar product but with slightly different content.
at least it will seem like im watching something new for a while:
but having said that, I decided to start re-watching an old favourite today....Justified.

i finished all six seasons of Justified last week.
been picking my favourite episodes of Seinfeld over the last few days.
and ALL the Doctor Who episodes featuring Daleks from the modern series.
now back to movies, first up, a horror.
saw this one many moons ago, still remember and squirm at the opening gore on the deck of the ship.
it settles down after that to be more of a thriller than horror.

based on the Stephen King novel of the same name.
one of my favourites of his.
more of a thriller than outright horror.
stars Max Von Sydow and Ed Harris.
Sydow stars as the owner of the "needful things" bric-a-brac store.
he has every indulgence/want that the customers could wish for, the trouble being that there is a price to pay...
a very big price, their souls.
movie follows the chaos he brings upon the sleepy town of Castle Rock.

not many King adaptations live up to the novels and even fewer are worthy of watching.
this one is in my top ten adaptations for sure

started watching a horror/thriller series called Penny Dreadful today.
watched the first episode and gave up.
couldn't handle the characters...19thCentury London aristocrats fighting 'creatures of the night' with a gunslinger from the America.
so then I started this one:
a solitary single season Sci-Fi series called "The Crossing" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crossing_(TV_series)
seems okay after the first five episodes...
premise:
R efugees fleeing a war seek asylum in an American town—but they claim to be from America, 180 years in the future. Moreover, at least one of the refugees exhibits apparently superhuman powers that may make her a threat

I downloaded an app on my phone a few weeks ago called "ISS Live Now"
shows you whereabouts it is at any given moment in the sky,
if you put in your location you get sent alerts when it is about to be seen in the sky.
the app also gives live feeds into the ISS at the astronauts working etc and also their view out the windows,
its awesome.
anyway since I downloaded the app (which is free via the Google store) this is the first time it has flown directly overhead as opposed to not being overhead with clear skies.
its as big as the shine of Venus and moves at speed, in view and gone in about three-four minutes.
but hey, I thought it was interesting.
so im currently watching "ISS"
