lighthearted comedy series. six seasons in total, halfway through season two now.

its not a 'gotta watch at all costs' series but its a harmless, don't have to use your brain simplistic show.

DRAIN THE OCEANS on NAT GEO.
awesome series of docos dealing with shipwrecks/Bermuda triangle etc etc...
todays episode was about MH-370.
interesting episode but like most mysteries it raises more questions than answers.
the Wiki:
Drain The Oceans is an Australian and British documentary television series that premiered on 28 May 2018 on National Geographic.[1][2] The 25-part factual series is hosted by Craig Sechler, and explores shipwrecks, treasure and sunken cities using underwater scanning system, scientific data, and art digital recreations. a doco on the Nazi scientists who ended up in the US after WWII.
delves into the "foo fighters", the mythical "Nazi bell" and then goes on to detail the various war crimes that those scientists should have been prosecuted for (and not just those ones, some went to UK/USSR also).
interesting historical content.

"counting tigers" on Nat Geo:
doco based in India and the efforts of scientists/game wardens to keep count of numbers and their never ending struggle to stop poaching.
a couple of really sad scenes that I don't need to get into, but youll know what im alluding to.
those guys who try to save tigers (and other endangered species) need to get more recognition for their dangerous endeavours!

Netflix comedy:
I can usually only tolerate David Spade and Lauren Lapkus in small doses but they played well off each other for the full 90 minutes so it worked well.
Spade's humour is the same as the humour he had in Just Shoot Me!....
the plot:
Tim Morris (David Spade) has a blind date with Melissa "Missy" (Lauren Lapkus). Missy is extremely strange, and her odd behavior turns out to be disastrous for Tim.
Later, Tim meets a beautiful woman, also named Melissa (Molly Sims), at the airport. They connect with much in common and seem to be perfect for each other. She ends up giving him her number. He begins texting her and eventually invites her to his work retreat in Hawaii. However, on the plane, Missy shows up, and Tim realizes he had been texting the wrong Melissa.
In Hawaii, Jack Winstone (Geoff Pierson), the new CEO, welcomes everyone. Missy is awkward and wild and always seems to end up leaving Tim in embarrassing situations in front of his boss and colleagues. As time goes on, she starts to help Tim do well at his work retreat and also wins Winstone's favor towards Tim by hypnotizing him. Tim eventually begins to fall for her. Tim's workplace competitor, Jess (Jackie Sandler), is not pleased with Winstone giving a job to Tim instead of her. So Jess reveals to Missy that she was invited there by accident and wasn't the one Tim wanted to invite. Missy checks Tim's phone and finds out the truth. Saddened and devastated, she leaves Hawaii.
Meanwhile, the actual Melissa arrives in Hawaii, having been invited by Jess. Tim lets her know that he has feelings for someone else and leaves Hawaii for Portland. Tim also removes the hypnotism Missy put on Winstone, and Winstone ends up firing him.
Tim meets with Missy and he apologizes and tells her all the things that he likes about her and that he wants to be more like her. She forgives him, and they kiss.
good movie for a light hearted bit of fun with the family.

(This post was last modified: 27-05-2020, 09:13 by CRAZY-HORSE.)
2018, tenth sequel to the original 1978 slasher movie.
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to reprise her role as 'the one who got away' in the original.
had previously hung on for the first five movies, gave up on the repetition and the final one with Donald Pleasance as co-star, but decided to return
because Jamie Lee was in this one.
would have thought that this would have been the final franchise movie but as per usual the ending has been
left open for another....
and looking on Wiki theres at least two more in the production line, and why not?, this one made $250 million at the
cinemas upon release so theres still a market for it.
me,
ive given up, same crap, different movie.

US doco-drama series.
follows outlaw moonshiners, obviously theyre not going to be on camera making the illegal brew
but instead, the show describes how it could be possible to make moonshine etc etc,
I occasionally watch this when theres nothing else on.
strange thing is that when I watch it my reaction is always the same..."pretty sure the dickhead did this on his property!"
==================================================================
and while we are on the subject of moonshine, just saw a movie with Timothy Olyphant.
Netflix, romantic-comedy movie
as I mentioned, Timothy Olyphant was in it.
PLOT: romantic comedy film written and directed by Susannah Grant, her only feature film direction, and starring Jennifer Garner, Timothy Olyphant, Kevin Smith, Sam Jaeger and Juliette Lewis. In the film, after a woman's fiancé dies, she seeks comfort in his friends, learning his secrets while falling for his best friend.
