I read the news today, oh boy!
saw something on the news today that experts say that up to 740 million animals have been killed by the fires to date ( I kid you not 740,000,000)
and to be honest that is probably not far off being the truth, its also mind boggling!

entire eco systems have been destroyed and with that in mind there could be numerous species that are now extinct due to the fires

an absolute tragedy.

second death of a fire fighter in the fires: https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia...spartanntp

28 still missing in New South Wales (part of the above link)

some experts are now saying that the fires are so big that no intervention will stop them and they will have to run their course and burn themselves out.

I know Canadian and New Zealand Fire Fighter shave been assisting with the fires as have the Australian Army
but I cannot find info on whether any other foreign assistance has come to our aid.
is anyone aware of anyone else helping out??

The party's over and loadshedding returns. Currently Stage 2 but who knows?? Pfffft. At least we aren't on fire!

"Our teams continue to work tirelessly to return units back from planned and unplanned outages.  Owing to inadequate maintenance over a number of years, the system remains vulnerable to unplanned outages," it said. "We remind customers that load shedding is an essential and controlled measure to ensure that the integrity of the grid is not compromised."
