Currently Watching?
Was watching the Madeline McCann documentary on Netflix last night. There are those that think the parents are guilty and those that think they are not. Regardless, that couple went through absolute hell. The bloody reporters should be taken to task for their behaviour. Despicable lot. Those tacky English tabloids have a lot to answer for.

after the debacle with the whole Azaria Chamberlain disappearance in Australia in 1980 I refuse to point fingers at anyone in the McCann case.
Merryl Streep starred in a movie about the whole thing, but I cannot recall the name of it though.
for those who don't know the Azaria incident heres the Wiki:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_A...hamberlain

anyway,

currently watching:

comedy based on the premise that no one in the world remembers The Beatles except for one muso who takes their songs for his own.
cameo appearance from Ed Sheeran, would have liked to have seen cameos from Paul and Ringo, after all, im sure they would see the funny side of it.
movie is probably a bit lengthy at four minutes short of two hours and drags in places but overall it is worth watching.

yup,
I just googled it

it was called Evil Angels in Australia, but yes, A Cry In The Dark for the rest of the world

both Merryl and Sam deserved Oscars for their roles but alas, it wasn't to be

ROGUE

Aussie movie made in 2007
I guess horror would be the best place to put it
loosely based on a true story about series of attacks by a 5.1m/17ft Salt Water Crocodile in the 1970s
I find most movies of this style laughable to say the least but this one is up there with Jaws for that edge of seat drama
but the ending is typical Cinematic BS
pretty scary stuff considering what these creatures are capable of
features an early appearance by Sam Worthington

halfway through binging Season-1.
lots of humour in this series.
seems like one of those series where the plot just plods along
and not really going anywhere ala: Under The Dome, Lost, Sleepy Hollow, Haven etc
but seems okay at the moment.

Slow movie but lots of food for thought. Highly recommended even if the subject material is not to your taste. The message I take away from this movie is that we are all human and all fallible. A lot of home truths about the mess the world finds itself in. The millions in poverty (and growing rapidly) and the handful of the truly wealthy trying to stay ahead of the pack and control it all. The writing's on the wall. Just a matter of time people. No getting away from what's coming.

just finished watching it Jerome
agree just about 100% with your comments
Johnathon Pryce plays the Cardinal BTW, superb actor.
would be a shame for either Pryce or Hopkins get a "best actor" award but not the other one

superb movie
well worth a view if the rest of you get a chance

thriller-cum natural disaster movie
stars Forest Whittaker
should have been a whole lot more than it is with him in it
a few moments here and there that were good but generally underwhelming

on Netflix

Sci-Fi thriller

a unique take on aliens, not your usual invasion of earth movie
interesting and intelligent which isn't the norm in most Sci-Fi flicks

Netflix doco "9/11: Control The Skies"

the story of the Traffic Controllers who unprecedently bought thousands of planes down to safety in the wake of the WTC attacks.
absolutely awesome work that was so far fetched no one could have been trained for such a manoeuvre
