The new project
I will see if I can find anything on the Xara site knowledgebase. Anyway it's no biggie - just the start of an electronic album I am trying to create. Can anybody else hear the music or am I wasting my time posting this stuff? Or maybe both!!!

Thx for the response people. Good to know at least some people can hear the stuff. Even on my own browser I cannot see the 'play' button. I can see it in the program when I attach the sound file but after it's published to the web it just disappears. Mysteries and mayhem.

Listened to your Macca tracks CH - first one I don't care for - too many hand-clappy things going on. Then I listened to the second one - a bit better but not much - Paul should stay away from electronic music. It's not really his thing. Also for me, a lot of electronic music is far more effective in a minor key. It creates more of a mood/atmosphere. A lot of Paul's stuff is major key material and for me it just does not work. Or maybe I'm just a moody bastard. Sorry if that is disappointing but it's just what I think - does not mean it is correct by any means but it just does not work for me. He has a gift for melody all right but it sounds too 'poppy' to me. The reason I like Oxygene so much is that it creates a foggy sort of atmosphere - slightly mysterious and intriguing. OK off to see the head doctor again....

no problem Jerome.

I don't like those, what I call, "off the cuff/experimental" pieces he does
was just curious if you thought they were up to par

and I agree with the 'poppy' comment
appears he is trying to appease everyone without committing to anything on an artistic level

When I was 15 or so I bought a MCA record company sampler. This track impressed the hell out of me at such an early age ! It ignited me to explore other music besides the Top 40 !

You sure dived in at the deep end. I have to ask, have you attended a live pipe organ concert (not a church service) and sat near enough to the instrument to have your guts massaged and your brains blown away?

Unfortunately my chief sound engineer had to be sent off to the happy hunting grounds yesterday. Her kidneys were packing up and I could not bear to see her in any distress. For fifteen years she put up with constant weird noises and general mayhem in my home studio and never complained. I will miss her presence. She was particularly fond of Brian Eno's - Music for Films. Go figure. Farewell my old friend.

It’s a small world J. My Russian Wolf Hound. ( below greeting my cousin) was very fond of Eno’s Music for Airports and hated organ music. No acounting for taste.

Yes my old cat. She's been with me for about 15 years. Did not realise how hard it would be to let her go. A very peculiar cat. When she was younger she used to jump up and ring the doorbell when she wanted to come in. Whenever I was working on a piece of music she would drape herself over the equipment. Whenever I played 'Music for Films' she would lie between the two speakers and move her head in weird motions in time to the music. The most unusual cat I have ever owned. She was deposited in my chimney by her mother all those years ago and almost died from cat flu. I reared her from there on. Oh well, as George Harrison once said - All Things Must Pass.
