^^I've seen two episodes so far and it's both riveting and terrifying IMHO. Obviously a dramatization but that doesn't alter the essential facts which are very very scary indeed. I'm sure people will have criticisms and they may have grounds, and there will be anomalies and inaccuracies, but there usually are in film, and I am definitely going to watch it through to the end. I think it's been extremely well done and that the more people who see it the better. There's a lot of dangerous stuff in the world but this has endless ramifications. We must not have another Chernobyl or Fukushima.

A bit of a sidestep, but related - I can't help thinking of the rather chilling line about the investment guru at the end of the movie The Big Short“Michael Burry is focusing all of his trading on one commodity: Water”

Phillip Goodhand-Tait - I Think I'll Write a Song

The musicians on this album are basically Camel without Pete Bardens. Phillip Goodhand-Tait wrote some good songs - "Silverwing" being one of them ...

Bob Dylan - just been feeling like listening to him lately. Maybe it's the weather?? Infidels, then Desire. He is to music what Picasso was to painting - laws unto themselves. Thoroughly enjoyed both these albums. I love the cantor like "One More Cup of Coffee" and Scarlet Rivera's violin (Desire) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95cufW4h-gA

A clip from the Infidels sessions which is fun to see but poorly synced ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV7u8GGldbg .... and this one, which sounds better ... same song ... with the ubiquitous MK, of course!

NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE "Greendale"  2003:

twenty-fifth solo set from Uncle Neil...
Ive been thinking about this album for a couple of weeks now and thought
i should play it to get it out of my head...
a rock opera...
explores the life, career and on duty death of Police Officer Carmichael...
the tale is told through the eyes of various members of the community
of the fictional town of Greendale, California...
music isn't as heavy as most Crazy Horse material, in fact it even has a
swing/jazz thing happening at times...
an underrated, under appreciated, forgotten album from his vast back catalogue
well worth a listen if you get a chance..
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

Steve Hackett - Beyond the Shrouded Horizon

I really enjoy this album - it seems to flow very well, IMHO, in fact so much so that you get swept along and the thought of not listening all the way through doesn't even occur. There are many different elements including some quite hard rock and a slightly surprising blues rock number, ballads, instrumental sections - they all work together to make a pleasing whole. I hear something different with every listen. Steve's brother John appears here, as do Chris Squire and Simon Phillips along with the Hackett regulars, Amanda Lehman, Roger King, Nick Beggs and Gary O'Toole, whose drumming and vocals make a substantial contribution.

From Hackett's website - (the album is from 2011) - http://www.hackettsongs.com/news/newsAlbum4.html

"My new album Beyond the Shrouded Horizon breaks free from its moorings in early autumn and sets sail through choppy riffs and sudden electric storms to the odd romantic isle...

From Sinbad seas to Startrek oceans of deep sky, it's an odyssey. Invisible cords link pop to pomp, blues to baroque, embracing all genres discovered along the way. Let ethnic guitar forces and power of song take you to where waves crash through de-tuned orchestras over the edge of charted territories."

The beautiful, hymnal "Til These Eyes" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKVZu51pPmk

And "Two Faces of Cairo" (for a change - I have previously posted several tracks - never this one  Smile - spectacular drumming, and equally spectacular guitar - has Egypt and the Valley of the Kings all over it ... )

Juan Martin's Picasso Portraits, from 1981. Discogs calls it Acoustic, Prog Rock, Jazz-Rock, Andalusian Classical - I say Progressive Flamenco.

A lovely instrumental album featuring Martin's guitar, of course but he is accompanied by some other well known and well regarded musicians - Simon Phillips on drums, Ian Mosley of Marillion also on drums on three tracks, Tony Hymas on keys, John Gustafson on bass. The album is his interpretation, in musical form, of a selection of Picasso's artworks and is purportedly based on music he played at Picasso's 90th birthday celebration.

I'm having a Spanish/gypsy music moment which this isn't quite, but it suits my mood in any event. He made another similar album which I'm listening to now - more jazz oriented than this, and with Mark Isham. Another album of interpretations of artwork - this time from painters as diverse as David Hockney, Matisse and Leonardo Da Vinci, although he manages to slip in a Picasso as well. I'll post it elsewhere, I think.

Juan Martin is an amazing guitarist - not flashy at all, but incredibly accomplished - beautiful crisp, clean playing.

BOB DYLAN "blonde on blonde" cd,  1966:

another journey back into the vaults of my favourite albums...

Uncle Bob's seventh studio album...
some rock, some blues and some folk on here...
lyrically, its a masterpiece from Just Like A Woman (one of the greatest love
songs ever recorded) through to the almost humorous  yet paranoid Rainy Days Woman 12 & 35...
one of his best albums IMO, I LOVE IT.

whilst I was thinking about which track to post I remembered that very few of his tracks are available
on YT, thankfully though, the one I did want to post was available:

JOHN LENNON "the John Lennon collection"  vinyl 1982

already in the pipeline prior to his death but put back due to his death
and contractual disagreements between EMI/Geffen...
nineteen track set covering his most well known songs starting with Give Peace
A Chance and ending with several from Double Fantasy...
it was a sad yet happy listen,
sad in the fact that we lost such a talented guy through a senseless act of violence,
yet happy in the fact that we are left with a catalogue of material that has few peers...
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

y'all know what my least likeable track is, I have no clear favourite, as is the quality of his
material so heres one that sums up everything he epitomised...
