You need to be very careful what you look at in the UK.....The UK journalist seem to have moved to positions of sensationalism and facts to many of them are irrelevant.....adding to that The Sun has always been a very very poor paper to judge anything from. At best it was a comic and worst it was the paper that thought that sexual exploitation of women to gain sales amongst simpler male customers was a good idea .....

To be honest, to get a more accurate view you need to look to more internationally based media reports.

Crazy is right. The Sun is only reporting on what has been provided to it by various agencies and bodies in the USA. If you click on the links in the actual article you will find that this data has been validated. It's not fake news - it's very real indeed. Having said that The Sun is known for being tacky and sensationalist, but this article is not.

Which reminds me of that other great English paper - The 'Grauniad' - more commonly known as The Guardian. The nickname came about as a result of the fact that the paper was constantly riddled with spelling mistakes. Oh well, the days of good English has went...

I think it is so sad ...I was teaching these things to people in the 80s in schools and it looked then as if we were bringing in a generation that understood these things and would be careful in the future. Now 40 years on it is heart breaking to see how these things were ignored and the policies of governments focused on money and expanding economies when in the 80s the warning lights were flashing. To many it was more important to make money , disregard the planet and look for status symbols    Much of what was predicted has occurred and we are nearer the nightmare scenario than many understand.....and still we show few signs of changing.....

We are all to blame for the state of the planet. We are constantly consuming and putting very little back. I cannot see that changing. Mankind is inherently stupid. Even though the evidence is everywhere, world leader's are refusing to acknowledge the looming disaster on the horizon. In fifty years time the place is going to be a real mess and water and food shortages are going to be a reality for the majority of the planet's species, including the dumb one that started it all. We never learn.

I remember reading an American Indian's quotation many moons ago. Went something like this;

'Only when the last fish has been taken from the stream, the last bird taken from the sky and the last beast slaughtered upon the land - only then, will man realise that he cannot eat money'
