What Are You Listening To?

LOVE SCULPTURE "forms and feelings"  cd,  1969:

never heard of them???
maybe not but you know who the lead vocalist was...
UK/Welsh blues rock/psychedelic rock band...
only made two albums before disbanding in 1970...
four originals on here and four covers...
two of the covers are reimaginations of classical works done at breakneck speed...
one of the other covers is also performed at breakneck speed, anf that's a cover of
Chuck's "you cant catch me"...
the original tracks are very good, but favourite is the other cover, but I don't know the
original so I guess it is original to me...
if you've wondered who the lead vocalist is/was here is your answer...
Dave Edmunds.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

worst track: farandale
best track: seagull

tracks:

1....in the land of the few **
2....seagull ***
3....nobody's talking **
4....why ***
5....farandale *
6....you cant catch me *
7....people people **
8....sabre dance *

Kayak Seventeen - the CD, which is danger of getting worn out. I need to stop now before I listen too much! Looking forward to unpacking and setting up my sounds this weekend ... finally!!

^Serendipity ... if anyone was gonna have a coupla Kayaks tucked away in their shed, it was definitely you! Big Grin

Might have to look into that one as well now. They seem to have gone through plenty of different line-ups - Ton Scherpenzeel remaining ever constant.

[Image: 220px-Learning_to_Crawl_%28The_Pretender...art%29.jpg]

3rd album

I can relate

vinyl for me also MH....

#11 UK
#18 AU
#9  CAN
#5  US

like the previous two albums had six singles released off each of them, this one did also...
from memory, Chrissie was the only original member on this release as MH said, two fatal
overdoses between album #2 and this one and I believe the other dude either quit or was sacked?!....
only one cover on this one, Persuaders' "thin line....", love that track, but I love most of
the album anyway...
actually thought "back on the chain gang" was my favourite track off this album but you know what?...
I couldn't pick a favourite this time round...

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

tracks:

1....middle of the road ***
2....back on the chain gang ***
3....time the avenger ***
4....watching the clothes ***
5....show me ***
6....Thumbelina **
7....my city was gone ***
8....thin line between love and hate ***
9....I hurt you **
10..2000 miles **

Deep Purple - Made in Europe. Almost their swansong as a band but a brilliant album nevertheless. A blistering version of 'Burn'. Mr. Paice is in fine form on this album. As is Mr. Lord.

Kansas - Two for the Show - probably one of the best live rock albums ever produced. A band at their peak. My favourite from the album - the best version of this track - https://youtu.be/4r3uIA6CGiA

SLADE "sladest"  vinyl, 1973:

compilation..
released to fill in the gap after their drummer had a serous car accident
and the band had to postpone the recording of their current studio set...
album introduced the band to the US market with US Rolling Stone calling it
"the wildest all-stops out rock and roll youre likely to hear this year"...
unfortunately the buying public were stupid and didn't buy it, it peaked at #120 Stateside...
charted where it deserved in the UK (#1) and #2 in Australia...
one of the greatest compilation albums ever released IMO...

I LOVE THIS ALBUM
