NEW AND NOTABLE: upcoming albums
#11
Looking very much forward to hearing Loreena McKennitt's new album, Lost Souls, due to be released on 11 May; if this is anything to go by, it will be filled with wondrous sounds.

Flamenco virtuoso Daniel Casares putting in an appearance on “Spanish Guitars and Night Plazas” – yes please!!

theres four more from Neil Young coming out this year....

Homegrown
This 1975 LP was a planned return to the commercial Harvest sound before Young shelved it. "It was too personal," he said. "It scared me."

Odeon/Budokan
A soundboard tape from Young's fieriest tour ever, with Crazy Horse in 1976. It features the definitive "Cortez the Killer."

Chrome Dreams
The original "Powderfinger" and "Pocahontas" were on this LP, which he held back in favor of 1977's heavy American Stars 'N Bars.

Alchemy
a live album from Crazy Horse's last tour several years ago.

There’s something new on the brew from Mark Knopfler. It’s all a bit mysterious right now – no title available, but there do seem to have been quite a few musicians involved. According to Guy Fletcher’s site, the album is just about ready in terms of mixing etc., and it's a 'cracker'. How exciting!!

Looking forward to it. The guy always delivers. Been listening to Last Exit to Brooklyn a lot recently - Guy Fletcher and Mark - stunning stuff!

For lovers of 60's rock n roll. Ian Gillan has gone back in time, reunited with bandmates from 55 years ago and produced an album of covers - a fair distance removed from DP! Not my favourite era personally, but he does this with great aplomb (if the teaser track is anything to go by) - https://www.planetrock.com/news/rock-new...-javelins/

Mentioned Klaus Schulze's new release a few posts back - Silhouettes. Tried to listen to it but just couldn't. Far too vague and somehow insubstantial - pity. Oh well ...

I see there's new Paul Simon album due for release on 07 September -
