I'm not really a Willie fan (pardon the pun) but you have to admire his tenacity and endurance. And he still looks the part! Great shot on the album cover.

im a big fan as you know Jerome, so apart from you not being a fan I agree with everything else you said in your post...
and when they say a good picture should speak a thousand words to the viewer, this one certainly does it...
i'll be listening to the album shortly...
okay, just finishing listening to the album now....
has a genuine country feel to it as opposed to the almost jazzy music hes used for most of his career...
nothing wrong with the album, its a good solid collection of original tracks...
he still has that trademark 'twang' in his vocals and his voice is still silky smoothe for the most part
although it quivers at times, an age thing I guess....
tracks are full of regret, well not regret, but of maybe doing things different if he had the chance...
also plenty of songs with Willie facing his own mortality...
album is a reflection of life to put it simply...
