KASABIAN "empire" cd, 2006:
UK alt-rockers....
second album of six, I own five, great band IMO....
mostly alt rock, a couple of electro-pop type tracks and a couple with an Oasis sound....
their first to reach #1 in their homeland and they are yet to not get to #1 with their remaining
four albums to date (the debut made it to a lowly #4!)....
three singles off the album, the title track and first single it my favourite track on here
and sums up the overall sound of the album:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

REGINA SPECTOR "begin to hope" cd, 2006:
Reggie's fourth album and also her biggest seller....
has a sound similar to Sara Barielles and Joe Jackson latter day material....
not a bad album, nothing bad, but little variation in the songs overall...
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

DAMON ALBARN "Dr.Dee" cd, 2012:
album could have gone in film/stage or classical also
frontman for Blur/Gorillaz...
album is the soundtrack to a British opera written by Albarn...
DR Dee was a historical figure in the UK, being the scientific advisor to Queen Elizabeth I...
and the opera is his supposed life story...
album has some instrumental pieces classical in nature, it also has a few operatic tracks
which are obviously sung by others and not Albarn...
a few folky acoustic tracks sung by Albarn also...
I still cant figure out whether I like this album or not, its one of those hard to put your finger on
it albums....
either way, it puts Damon Albarn into another genre of music and whether its good or bad he is always trying
to stay away from his pop/alternative comfort zone...
from the album, one of the songs Albarn sings, has a bit of a Ray Davies quality to it:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

HOODOO GURUS "mach schau" cd, 2004:
their eighth of nine albums, I own eight of them....
probably my least favourite of the eight I own...
first few tracks are not their trademark style, and I don't like that,
sort of like Stones/AC-DC, they have a stock standard style and any deviation is disappointing
for most fans...
they do get back to their sound halfway through but the songs aren't as catchy as their usual stuff...
album does make the pass mark but only just, would score a 1.8-1.9 from me if I scored it...
the lead off single and one with the trademark Guru sounds...
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

IMAGINE DRAGONS "evolve" cd, 2017:
US alt rockers' third album...
I own all three, great band....
not as good as The Killers, but not too far behind them IMO....
more acoustic/slower tracks than their previous effort but still cool...
my favourite album of theirs...
seven singles off this album, my favourite track was the sixth single:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

KINGS OF LEON "only by the night" cd. 2008:
the band's fourth of seven...
I thought I had them all but upon checking I own five....
I really like or love the other four I own, love their alt rock sounds...
this one, I just cant get in to it, I'm glad it wasn't the first one I bought
because I may not have given them a second glance...
its over produced IMO, no rough edges...
I only like a handful of tracks on it...
hate the lead off single "sex on fire" with a passion and always have, I don't know,
theres just something about it I cannot stand and that reflects in my opinion of the album overall...
only song on the album I actually love:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

I love it when we are on the same page with our music mate...
I always feel guilty when we aren't on the same page, but it is what it is...
so I'm glad were on the same page with this album and best track!

KINGS OF LEON "young & young manhood" cd, 2003:
their debut....
I got on board with their third, this was a return purchase later one...
the UK and Australia were on the ball with these guys from the get go...
took the US/Canada etc a couple more releases to appreciate them...
album went 3x platinum in Australia and 2x platinum in the UK....
almost an alternative country sound on some tracks, even the melodies lean
towards country at times....
one of my favourites of theirs, its edgy, its raw, its not over produced like some of their material...
the debut single:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

THE PSYCHEDELIC FURS "mirror moves" cd, 1984
UK New Wave band....
fourth studio set, I own the first five, never bought the last two for some reason???...
far and away my favourite of theirs...
more uptempo overall than their other ones....
still with their distinctive sound though...
love every track on this one...
the Kiwis got it right here making New Zealand the only country it registered top10...
couldn't pick a favourite track off the album so heres the lead off single:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.
